Marvel Cosmic Invasion PS5 is what happens when the studio behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is handed the Marvel roster. Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu built an arcade beat em up in the spirit of the 1990s Marvel cabinets, then added a tag-team system that lets you carry two heroes into every fight and swap between them mid-combo.

The Studio That Earned This Licence
Tribute Games is a Montreal studio that has been making pixel-art games since 2011 — Wizorb, Mercenary Kings, Flinthook, Panzer Paladin, Scott Pilgrim EX. Its breakout was Shredder’s Revenge with Dotemu, which sold millions and is widely treated as the modern benchmark for the genre.
That track record matters here, because the failure mode for licensed superhero brawlers is a game that looks right and plays like nothing. This one was made by people who have already proven they understand the timing, the spacing and the crowd control that make a beat em up feel good.
Tag-Team Fighting: Two Heroes, One Fight
You do not pick one character. You pick a duo, and you cycle between them during a fight — hitting an enemy with one hero, tagging out mid-air, continuing the combo with the other. Each hero has their own moves, weight and range, so the pairing you build changes how you approach a room rather than just changing the sprite on screen.
Tee Lopes, who scored Shredder’s Revenge and Sonic Mania, handles the soundtrack, and it is exactly the kind of thing you would have heard leaking out of an arcade cabinet in 1993.
Fifteen Playable Heroes
The roster spans fifteen characters and deliberately mixes household names with deeper cuts: Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Venom, She-Hulk, Black Panther, Rocket Raccoon, Nova, Phyla-Vell, Beta Ray Bill and Cosmic Ghost Rider among them. That balance is a statement of intent — this is drawn from the cosmic Marvel comics of the eighties and nineties rather than the film universe.
Support continued after launch. A first downloadable pack added Cyclops and The Thing, arriving after the game passed 1.5 million players.
Annihilus and the Annihilation Wave
The plot borrows from one of Marvel’s best cosmic storylines. Annihilus launches an assault across the galaxy with the Annihilation Wave, and heroes from Earth and from deep space are forced into the same fight. Stages run from New York City out to the Negative Zone, which gives the artists an excuse to swing between street-level brawling and genuinely alien backdrops.
You can read the publisher’s overview on the official Dotemu game page.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion PS5 on Physical Disc
The game launched digitally on 1 December 2025. Physical editions for PlayStation 5 followed on 13 March 2026 in Standard and Deluxe versions — worth noting, because plenty of Dotemu titles never get a disc release at all, and the ones that do tend not to be reprinted indefinitely.

FAQ – Marvel Cosmic Invasion PS5
Is it connected to the Marvel films?
No. It draws on the comics, particularly the cosmic storylines, and the character designs reflect classic comic art rather than the movie versions.
Can you play co-op?
Yes, cooperative multiplayer is supported. The tag-team system also works in single player, so you always control two heroes regardless.
How long is it?
A single run through the campaign takes a few hours. Beat em ups are built for replay, and with fifteen heroes and unlimited pairings the value comes from repeat playthroughs with different duos.
Is it suitable for children?
Broadly yes. It is cartoon violence with no gore, in a style familiar to anyone who grew up on arcade brawlers, and the co-op makes it a good pick to play with a child.
Are the DLC characters included?
No. Downloadable heroes such as Cyclops and The Thing are separate digital purchases through the PlayStation Store.
Does Totot deliver across the UAE?
Yes. We ship nationwide via Aramex for a fixed AED 10, with cash on delivery, Tabby and Tamara available at checkout.
