The Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black is soundcore’s flagship noise-cancelling earbud in its darkest finish. Two things set it apart from cheaper soundcore models. First, Adaptive ANC 3.0 uses seven sensors, six for sound and one barometric pressure sensor, and soundcore says it recalibrates every 0.3 seconds. Second, the charging case has a small screen and a touch bar, so you can see battery levels and change the noise-cancelling level without picking up your phone. Each earbud carries 10.5 mm and 4.6 mm drivers, supports LDAC on Android, and is rated IPX5.

Why black, and who it suits
Black is the colour for people who wear earbuds all day and do not want them noticed. In a meeting, on a call or in a mosque car park, the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black reads as a small dark shape rather than a gadget. Dark tips and stems also hide skin oil and the light scuffs that come from pockets and bag pouches, so the earbuds look newer for longer than the White version. For frequent flyers, business travellers and commuters, black is the safe default that matches any outfit, any phone and any laptop bag.
Made for flights: the pressure sensor
The seventh sensor is a barometric pressure sensor, and soundcore aims it at air travel. Cabin pressure drops as the aircraft climbs, which changes how the ear tips seal and how low engine rumble reaches you. soundcore says the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black uses the sensor to adjust noise cancelling, and quotes up to 178% stronger cancelling in flight. The condition matters: that figure comes from lab tests showing up to 5 dB more reduction for sounds below 300 Hz at a 24 kPa pressure drop, roughly the pressure at 2 km altitude. The separate “3× stronger” claim is based on up to 12.2 dB more reduction between 600 and 700 Hz in soundcore’s lab.
A case with a screen and touch bar
The Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black charging case has a small display that shows the charge of each earbud and the case, and a touch bar beside it for adjusting the noise-cancelling level while the earbuds are in your ears. On a plane or in a busy office that means changing ANC without unlocking a phone and opening the soundcore app. The case charges over USB-C in about 2.5 hours from a wall charger, or in about 3.5 hours on a wireless pad, according to soundcore. The earbuds themselves take about 1.5 hours to fill.
Sound, LDAC and spatial audio
Each earbud has two dynamic drivers, 10.5 mm for bass and 4.6 mm for treble. On Android phones, LDAC can be switched on in the app for up to 990 kbps over Bluetooth 5.3; iPhones use the standard codec. HearID 4.0 builds a sound profile from a short hearing test, and there is a custom equaliser. soundcore lists four spatial audio modes, including fixed and head-tracking modes, plus Movie and Music modes that change the sense of distance. Multipoint lets the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black stay connected to a phone and a laptop at the same time.
Battery life, calls and fit
soundcore rates the earbuds at 10 hours in Normal mode and 7.5 hours with ANC or Transparency, rising to 40 and 30 hours with the case; these figures are lab results at 50% volume and default settings. Calls last about 4 hours with ANC and 4.5 hours in Normal mode. A 5-minute charge of the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black gives about 4 hours of playback. Six microphones with AI noise reduction handle calls. Each earbud weighs 5.5 g, and six ear-tip sizes from XXS to XL come in the box, with M fitted; a tip that seals well matters more to noise cancelling than any algorithm.
Who This Is Not For
The Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro Black is not the right choice if you use an iPhone mainly for high-resolution music, because LDAC works only on Android. IPX5 covers sweat and rain, not swimming or dust. With ANC on, 7.5 hours per charge means the case has to come along on long-haul flights. And if you never change noise-cancelling levels, the screen case adds cost you will not use; a simpler soundcore ANC model would do.
