LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight is the PlayStation 5 action-adventure from TT Games and Warner Bros. Games that follows Bruce Wayne from his training with the League of Shadows to the day Gotham City starts calling him its protector. It mixes an open-world Gotham, combat modelled on the Arkham games and the brick-smashing puzzles of the LEGO series, and two people can play it together on one sofa. PlayStation’s UAE page dates its release to May 2026 and lists Arabic on-screen text.

LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight: Batman’s Story from the Start
Most LEGO Batman games drop you into Gotham with the cape already on. This one begins earlier. The story, as PlayStation describes it, runs from Bruce Wayne’s training with The League of Shadows to his rise as Gotham City’s best-known guardian, so the campaign covers how Batman becomes Batman rather than starting at the peak of his career.
The tone stays LEGO: slapstick moments, minifigures that burst into studs and puzzles solved by rebuilding the scenery. That makes LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight easy to share with younger players, while older Batman fans will spot references to decades of comics and films, including Batmobiles modelled on Batman (1989), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Batman (2022).
A Gotham City That Feels Lived In
Gotham here is a single open city rather than a menu of levels. In PlayStation’s hands-on report the streets have traffic and pedestrians who wave and chat to the heroes, a working train network you can ride on top of, and crimes and puzzles scattered between missions. You cross it with a grappling hook and a glider, or call the Batmobile when the distance is longer.
The Batcave is the home base, complete with a giant penny built entirely from LEGO bricks. Warner Bros. lists 100 suits and outfits, more than 20 vehicles and over 250 Batcave items and trophies in the Standard Edition of LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight, so there is plenty to collect after the credits.
Gordon, Robin, Batgirl and More
Batman is not alone in the campaign. PlayStation’s preview names Detective Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl and Catwoman as playable alongside him, and each one solves problems differently. Batgirl’s hackarang gets past security systems, Catwoman fights with a whip and cartwheel kicks, and Nightwing has his own Nightcycle for getting across town.
The rogues gallery in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight is just as broad. The Joker, Ra’s al Ghul, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Bane and Firefly all appear, along with other villains PlayStation leaves unnamed.
Arkham-Style Combat Built from Bricks
Combat in LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight borrows the rhythm of the Arkham games. On the DualSense controller you chain attacks with Square, counter with Triangle, dodge with Circle and, once the Focus Meter is full, press R1 for a finishing move. Gadgets sit on R2 and change with the character you control.
It is more fluid than older LEGO brawling, where you mostly tapped one button, but it stays forgiving. The DualSense adds vibration and trigger effects, which PlayStation lists as supported on PS5, and Remote Play is supported too.
Two Players on One PS5, No Online Co-op
LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight supports one or two players, and the two-player mode is local only. PlayStation states clearly that online co-op is not available, so a friend has to sit on the same sofa with a second controller. The upside is that no PlayStation Plus subscription is needed for co-op.
For families this is the main appeal: a parent and child, or two siblings, can play through the story together without anyone needing an online account of their own.
Standard Edition, Languages and Age Rating
The disc we sell is the Standard Edition for PlayStation 5. It does not include the Deluxe Edition extras, which Warner Bros. lists as the Arkham Trilogy Pack, the Batman Beyond Pack, the Party Music Pack and the Mayhem Collection. Those are sold digitally on PlayStation Store.
On PlayStation’s UAE page, LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight lists Arabic among its screen languages, so menus and subtitles can be read in Arabic. The voice-over is not in Arabic: spoken languages include English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish. The UAE age rating is 12.
Who This Is Not For
Skip LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight if you want to play with friends online; co-op is local only. It is also a PS5-only game, with no PS4 version, so it will not run on a PS4 console.
Players looking for the dark, grounded Batman of the Arkham series should know that the combat feels similar but the humour and LEGO presentation stay light throughout. And anyone who needs Arabic voice acting will not find it here; Arabic is limited to on-screen text.
