Ultimate Team on the FC 27 PS4 English disc
The biggest addition to Football Ultimate Team is the FUT Gallery. EA describes it as a space to show off your favourite Player Items, grade sets of items by club, league and nation, and earn rewards as the sets fill up. EA’s launch notes also mention more tradeable rewards and new Hall of FUT items.
Ultimate Team is an online mode with optional purchases of FC Points, including random items, and EA’s terms require an internet connection and an EA Account.
What PS4 players do not get
EA keeps The Grounds, including Clubs, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. Sony’s page states it plainly: The Grounds is not available on the PS4 version. That is the one mode EA names as missing. Kick-Off, Manager Career and Ultimate Team are part of the PS4 & PS5 product that Sony describes.
Upgrading the FC 27 PS4 English copy to PS5
EA says the upgrade from PS4 to PS5 comes at no additional cost. Sony’s rules for discs are strict: you need a PS5 with a disc drive, and the PS4 disc has to be in the console every time you play the upgraded PS5 version. Without a drive, a PS5 Digital Edition cannot use this route until Sony’s Disc Drive is attached.
Playing the PS4 version on a PS5 without upgrading is also possible, but Sony warns that some features available on PS4 may be absent, so upgrading is the cleaner option.
Language on the English box
EA does not publish a language list for this retail box. Sony’s US store lists, for the PS4 build, voices in English and thirteen other languages, and EA’s game-wide list covers 21. What we can promise is English commentary and menus on the FC 27 PS4 English copy; for Arabic commentary, the PS4 Arabic Edition is the box to choose.
Cross-play and local matches
EA’s cross-play puts PS4 together with Xbox One, separate from PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; Nintendo consoles are outside cross-play. Cross-play can be turned off in EA Connect.
