The card starts the installation, but the box and Nintendo’s page both make clear that the game is not playable from the card alone: plan for a 32.0 GB download. On a Switch with limited internal memory, a microSD card is the simple way to make room.
Once it is installed, the FC 27 Switch English copy plays on the TV, on a table or in handheld mode, the three modes Nintendo lists for it.
The licences and the pitch
EA counts more than 21,000 players across 800+ clubs, 130+ stadiums and 35+ leagues. EA’s announcement names the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, Premier League, Bundesliga and LALIGA, plus the UEFA Women’s Champions League. On the pitch, Nintendo’s description mentions dynamic corners, enhanced attacking awareness and player-focused defending.
What the original Switch misses compared with Switch 2
Nintendo says The Grounds, including Clubs, is only on the Switch 2 version. Online is smaller as well: 2 to 8 players on Switch, compared with 2 to 100 on Switch 2. If you own a Switch 2, the FC 27 Switch 2 English Edition is the version built for it, and Nintendo’s pages that we checked do not say how this original card behaves on Switch 2.
Local play for the family
Up to four people can play on one Switch, and two consoles can play together over local wireless. Nintendo lists the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as compatible; each player needs a controller, and extra controllers are sold separately. It is the kind of setup that works at a cousin’s house or on a family trip.
Language and online
Nintendo’s page lists twelve languages, English among them, so English commentary and menus are covered on the FC 27 Switch English copy. Online matches need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership, cloud save backup is not supported, and EA states that FC has no cross-play on Nintendo consoles. Who This Is Not For
Switch 2 owners and Clubs players. Anyone who wants Arabic commentary: for the original Switch, Nintendo lists Arabic commentary as a separate eShop item, and the Switch Arabic Edition is the Middle East box. Homes without internet, since the first download is required. It is the Standard Edition, rated PEGI 16, with optional in-game purchases.
