The JBL Authentics 200 is the smallest speaker in JBL’s Authentics home range, pairing a look taken from JBL’s classic 1970s speakers with a modern smart platform. It runs on mains power, joins your home network over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and connects to phones over Bluetooth 5.3. JBL rates it at 90 W in total (maximum power at 1% THD) from a stereo system of two 25 mm tweeters and a 5-inch woofer, backed by a 6-inch down-firing passive radiator. Its headline trick is running Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant at the same time, so you never have to pick one.

Retro Design for a Shelf or Majlis
The JBL Authentics 200 borrows the details of vintage JBL speakers: a geometric front grille, a metal frame and rotary dials on top for volume and tone. It looks like a piece of furniture rather than a gadget, which suits a bookshelf, a TV cabinet or a side table in the majlis. At 266.3 × 171.7 × 167.4 mm and 3.12 kg it fits a kitchen, bedroom or home office, but it is heavy enough that you will not want to move it from room to room every day.

Stereo Sound and Automatic Room Tuning
Inside is a 2.0 stereo layout: two 25 mm tweeters, a 5-inch woofer for mids and bass, and a 6-inch passive radiator firing downward to extend the low end. JBL lists the frequency response as 50 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB) and the output as 90 W maximum at 1% THD, which is a peak figure, not continuous RMS power. Each time it powers on, the speaker tunes itself automatically to the spot where it sits, so you get balanced sound without fiddling with settings.

Two Voice Assistants at Once
The JBL Authentics 200 runs Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant simultaneously. Ask one for the weather and the other to start a playlist or switch off a smart light, with no switching in between. Far-field microphones pick up your voice over the music, and a microphone-off switch is there for privacy. JBL notes that voice-assistant availability varies by country and language, so some commands or languages may not work in the UAE the way they do elsewhere.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Wired Inputs
Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, 2.4 and 5 GHz) brings AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect and Alexa Multi-Room Music, plus internet radio and podcasts. Bluetooth 5.3 with A2DP 1.3.2 and AVRCP 1.5 lets guests play straight from their phones. Around the back are a 3.5 mm audio input for a turntable or older player, an Ethernet port and a USB-C port; JBL says USB playback works on the US version only.

Setup, Updates and Power
You set up the JBL Authentics 200 in the JBL One app, which also handles the EQ, music-service accounts and settings, and the speaker receives software updates over Wi-Fi. It accepts 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz, so it plugs straight into a UAE socket, and JBL quotes networked standby consumption below 2 W. The box contains the speaker, a power cord, a quick start guide and a safety sheet.

Who This Is Not For
The JBL Authentics 200 is not a portable speaker: it has no battery, always needs a socket, and JBL publishes no water-resistance rating for it. It does not support Dolby Atmos, which is reserved for the larger Authentics 500, and 90 W suits a single room rather than a big hall. The voice assistants may not support Arabic or every service in the UAE, and USB playback is limited to the US version.
