Why Midnight for a TV corner

Beyond films, the speaker is a Thread-enabled home hub that connects to and controls Matter accessories, letting you run automations and control devices away from home. Its temperature and humidity sensor can switch a fan or close blinds, and Apple says Sound Recognition can listen for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, though it should not be relied on in emergencies. Siri works through four far-field microphones, Handoff uses an Ultra Wideband chip with a U1-equipped iPhone, and AirPlay brings multiroom audio and intercom announcements.

Who This Is Not For
The HomePod 2nd Generation Midnight is not for Android-only homes, because set-up needs an iPhone or iPad. It has no HDMI port or wired input, so TV sound needs an Apple TV 4K. A stereo pair means buying two units of the same model, and a HomePod mini cannot be the second speaker. It runs only on mains power and weighs 2.3 kg, so it is not a portable speaker.
