The Brigandine Legend of Runersia PS4 disc is a fantasy war simulation from Happinet, released on PlayStation 4 on 10 December 2020 after its Nintendo Switch debut. It is a grand turn-based strategy game set on the continent of Runersia, where six powers fight for control of more than 40 bases. You pick a ruler, gather knights and monsters into platoons, and campaign season by season to unite the land. The official site lists English, Japanese and Chinese text with full Japanese voice acting, and the game is strictly single-player.
Brigandine Legend of Runersia PS4: Table of Contents
Runersia 781 and the Brigandine Armours
The story begins in the year Runersia 781. According to Happinet’s official description, five nations and a small tribe share the continent, each with its own ideals, beliefs, history and faith. At the heart of the conflict are five Brigandine armours, each tied to a different ideology, and the powers march towards war over them. Among the factions named on the official site are the Holy Gustava Empire, the United Islands of Mirelva, the Mana Saleesia Theocracy and the Shinobi Tribe. Because you choose which ruler to follow, you see the war from a different side each time, with its own characters and motivations. The tone is classic high fantasy, with knights, magic and monsters, and the ESRB rating is Teen for fantasy violence, mild blood, suggestive themes and use of alcohol and tobacco.
Organisation Phase and Hex-Map Battles
Brigandine is grand strategy in the old tradition. The PlayStation Store description explains that Runersia contains more than 40 bases, 100 knights and 50 types of monsters. Each season is split into two parts. In the organisation phase you assign knights and monsters to platoons, build up your forces and plan where to strike. In the battle phase you attack enemy bases and fight turn-based battles on hex maps, moving units and using their skills to break the defenders. Enemy nations also grow and attack you on their own, so no two campaigns play out the same way. Managing which knights lead which monsters, and when to defend instead of attack, is the core challenge. A full campaign is long, which suits players who enjoy deep, slow-paced tactics.
Single-Player Campaigns and Languages
Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia is for 1 player only. Happinet’s official specification states there is no online play, and the PlayStation Store lists offline play and Remote Play support. Replay value comes from choosing different nations, each with its own story and starting position. The game has full voice acting in Japanese, while on-screen text is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, according to the official site and the PlayStation Store. PlayStation trophies are included, as with all PS4 games.

Who This Is Not For
This is a slow, menu-heavy strategy game, so players who want real-time action will find it too measured. Voices are Japanese only, with English text and no Arabic. There is no online or local multiplayer mode. Campaigns are long and the turn-based battles take time, and the presentation is simpler than big-budget releases, so it suits patient strategy fans rather than casual players.
