Chivalry 2 PS4 – 64-Player Medieval Battles, Castle Sieges, 4 Classes and 12 Subclasses, Cross-Play – PAL R2 Disc

The Chivalry 2 PS4 disc delivers the multiplayer first-person slasher developed by Torn Banner Studios and published by Tripwire Presents with Deep Silver as co-publisher. It launched physically and digitally on 8 June 2021. Inspired by epic medieval battle films, the game drops you into online fights of up to 64 players, from tournament grounds to full-scale castle sieges and village raids. You choose from 4 classes and 12 subclasses, each with its own weapons and abilities, and fight across all platforms through cross-play. It is an action and fighting game built entirely around large online battles.

Medieval War Inspired by Battle Films

Chivalry 2 does not tell a single-player story. Instead, Torn Banner Studios built it as a playable version of the great medieval battle movie, where every match is its own war. Two armies, the Agatha Knights and the Mason Order, clash over objectives on large maps. One side attacks while the other defends, so a match can start with a charge across open fields, move to a breach of the castle gates, and end in the throne room. The official press page describes team objective maps that include castle sieges and village raids, with catapults in play. Characters shout hundreds of voice lines and keep fighting even when wounded, bleeding or missing limbs, which gives each battle its loud, chaotic and often funny tone. The violence is graphic and aimed at adults.

Fast First-Person Melee Combat

Combat in Chivalry 2 is first-person melee with swords, axes, maces, spears and bows. Torn Banner describes a revamped combat system that is faster and more fluid than the first game, with a wider range of options. You swing, stab and overhead with clear timing, then parry, feint and counter to win a duel. In large fights you also need to watch your flanks, because enemies attack from every side. The PlayStation page lists 4 classes and 12 subclasses, each with unique weapons and abilities, so you can play as a heavy knight, a fast footman, a vanguard with long weapons or an archer at range. Siege weapons such as catapults add more chaos. Character customisation lets you build your own warrior, and progress unlocks more weapons and gear over time.

64-Player Online Battles and Cross-Play

Chivalry 2 is an online game. The PlayStation Store states that online play is required, needs PlayStation Plus, and supports up to 64 players, with cross-play across all platforms. Torn Banner confirmed in July 2024 that the May 2024 Regicide Update was the final content release and that the game is content and feature complete. The studio said official servers and matchmaking remain online and the game keeps receiving maintenance for critical issues. No end date for the servers has been announced. Optional in-game purchases are available.

PAL R2 Disc and PS5 Play

This is a new, sealed physical Chivalry 2 PS4 disc for the PAL (R2) region, covering Europe and the Middle East. PS4 games are region-free, so it plays on any PS4 in the UAE. Sony notes the PS4 version can run on PS5, though some PS4 features may be absent; use a PS5 with a disc drive. Covered by a 1-year warranty from Totot. Delivered across the UAE in up to 3 business days, free on orders from AED 300.

Who This Is Not For

Players without a stable internet connection or PlayStation Plus: the game requires online play and has no single-player campaign. Torn Banner ended new content in 2024, so no new maps or modes are coming. The game is rated 18+ for extreme violence, so it is not for children. Voice acting is English only, and the PS4 version runs below the 4K 60 FPS of the PS5 version.
