Somewhere above Facility 3826, a parade is still playing over the loudspeakers while everyone inside is being torn apart. Atomic Heart PS5 begins on the day the Soviet Union’s robot workforce stopped working and started killing, and it never really lets go of that contrast between propaganda and slaughter for the next twenty hours.

The Day the Machines Turned on the USSR
On the Atomic Heart, mundfish set its debut game in a 1955 that history never produced. In this version the Soviets solved robotics, communications and genetic engineering decades early, and the country became a genuine utopia on the surface: automated labour, gleaming naukograds, no shortages. Days before a new central control system goes live, something breaks.
On the Atomic Heart, you play Major Sergey Nechayev, known as P-3, a soldier with a temper and a memory he cannot fully trust, sent in by Dr. Dimitry Sechenov to find out what happened. Nothing about the investigation stays simple. The further you push into the complex, the clearer it becomes that the accident was not entirely an accident, and that P-3 is not being told what he is really cleaning up.
Atomic Heart PS5 Performance: 4K and a 120fps Option
On the Atomic Heart, this is the native current-generation release, not a backward-compatible PS4 disc. Mundfish added a 120fps mode to the PS5 build in patch 1.4, which requires a 4K television with HDMI 2.1 to actually use — on any other set the game runs in its standard high-resolution mode instead. Loading between the surface world and the underground facilities is fast enough that the game rarely interrupts its own momentum.
On the Atomic Heart, the visual gain matters more here than in most ports, because so much of the appeal is texture: wet polymer, chrome ballerina robots, tiled Soviet corridors, blood on white lab walls. Unreal Engine 4 was pushed hard for a first project from a new studio.
Weapons, the Glove, and Why Your Ammo Keeps Running Out
On the Atomic Heart, two systems drive every fight. The first is a physical arsenal that starts with a fire axe and grows into shotguns, rifles, railguns and homemade contraptions. The second is a polymer glove strapped to your left hand that fires telekinesis, shock and freeze effects, and the design assumes you will braid the two together constantly.
On the Atomic Heart, ammunition is scarce by design, which pushes you toward a rhythm of freezing a group, shattering the weakest unit, and cleaning up in melee. Everything you salvage from corpses, cabinets and crates gets fed into upgrades, so wandering off the critical path is rewarded rather than punished. Detection is the real danger: a neural network called Kollektiv links every robot in the region, and being spotted outdoors summons reinforcements from the nearest factory until you break line of sight or disable the cameras.

Mick Gordon and the Sound of Facility 3826
On the Atomic Heart, the soundtrack is a genuine reason to play this on a good setup. Mick Gordon, the composer behind the modern DOOM scores, contributed alongside Andrey Bugrov, Geoffrey Day and Christian Ugenti, and the result swings between industrial aggression and eerie Soviet-choir calm. Gordon publicly donated his fee from the project to the Red Cross Australia Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Against that, the world plays reworked period pop through tannoys and radios, which is exactly the kind of unsettling touch the game does well. More details are on the official Focus Entertainment Atomic Heart page.
Four Expansions and the Atomic Pass
On the Atomic Heart, support continued for two years after launch. Annihilation Instinct took P-3 to the Mendeleev Complex, Trapped in Limbo went somewhere far stranger, Enchantment Under the Sea followed, and Blood on Crystal closed the arc with a confrontation against CHAR-les inside the Crystal Complex. The four are bundled as the Atomic Pass and sold separately from the disc.

FAQ – Atomic Heart PS5
Does the game really run at 120fps?
On the Atomic Heart, on PS5 it can, but only if your television supports 4K over HDMI 2.1. The option was added after launch in patch 1.4. Without that display, you get the standard high-resolution presentation.
Is Atomic Heart open world?
On the Atomic Heart, partly. There is a connected outdoor region you travel across freely, but the strongest sections are the enclosed facilities, which are hand-built linear spaces closer to an immersive sim than a sandbox.
Who developed it, and is there a sequel?
Mundfish developed it as their first commercial release. A sequel, Atomic Heart 2, was announced at Summer Game Fest in June 2025, along with a separate multiplayer title set in the same universe.
Are the expansions on the disc?
No. The disc contains the base campaign. The four Atomic Pass chapters are digital purchases through the PlayStation Store.
Is it very difficult?
On the Atomic Heart, it is demanding in the early hours while ammunition is tight and your glove is still weak, then eases as upgrades stack up. Difficulty can be adjusted in the menu at any point.
Does Totot deliver across the UAE?
Yes. We ship nationwide via Aramex for a fixed AED 10, with cash on delivery, Tabby and Tamara available at checkout.
