Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4 is the boxed version of Konami’s Castlevania Anniversary Collection, produced by Limited Run Games as release number 405. Konami released the collection as part of its 50th anniversary celebration, gathering the early chapters of the Castlevania series, from the first adventures of the Belmont clan to the 16-bit era, on a single disc. Limited Run Games lists eight games plus a bonus eBook, History of Castlevania: Book of the Crescent Moon. The disc is region-free and plays on PS4 and on PS5.
Table of Contents
The eight games on the disc
Limited Run Games lists the full contents of Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4: Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: The Adventure, Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge, Castlevania: Bloodlines and Kid Dracula. That covers the console and handheld games that built the series’ identity, from whip-based platforming to the darker, more open Simon’s Quest. Having them all on one disc means you can play them in order and see how the series grew from one game to the next.
Kid Dracula in English
One title stands out in Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4. Limited Run Games notes that Kid Dracula had never before been released in English, so this collection was the first chance for many players outside Japan to try it. It is a lighter, comedic spin-off in which you play a young Dracula rather than a vampire hunter, and it shows a playful side of the series that many fans never saw. Limited Run Games lists English and Japanese as the languages of the collection.
The History of Castlevania eBook
Alongside the games, Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4 includes History of Castlevania: Book of the Crescent Moon, an eBook that you read on screen. Limited Run Games describes it as offering details from developers, artists and others inspired by the franchise. For anyone interested in how classic games were made, the book adds context to the eight titles, explaining where ideas came from and how the series influenced other games.
Region-free disc for PS4 and PS5
Limited Run Games describes this release as a region-free physical disc, and states that it also works on PS5. That matters for buyers in the UAE, because the cover is the North American edition with ESRB branding. The collection is rated ESRB T for blood, fantasy violence and partial nudity, and it is a 1-player release. Limited Run Games lists the genres as arcade, action, adventure and fighting. Limited Run releases are produced in limited quantities, which is why many collectors look for the numbered spine.
Who will enjoy it
Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4 suits two kinds of buyer. The first is the retro player who wants to experience the games that defined side-scrolling action, either for the first time or again after many years. The second is the collector who wants a numbered Limited Run disc on the shelf next to other physical releases. The games keep their original difficulty, so expect a challenge that asks for patience and practice. Browse more retro releases in our PlayStation games collection.
Who This Is Not For
Castlevania Anniversary Collection PS4 is not for players who want modern graphics or a new Castlevania story: these are the original classic games. They keep the old-school difficulty, which can feel harsh today. It is single-player only, it does not include later games such as Symphony of the Night, and the History of Castlevania eBook is digital on the disc, not a printed book. The cover is the North American edition with ESRB branding.
