The Xiaomi TV A 55 is the 55-inch model of Xiaomi’s 2026 A range. It is the size most people pick for a bedroom, a kids’ room, a small majlis or a first apartment: a 4K Google TV that weighs just 9.1kg without its stand and hangs on a VESA 200 x 300mm bracket. Xiaomi lists HDR10 and HLG, two 10W speakers with Dolby Audio and DTS:X, Google Cast and Apple AirPlay, and a 110W power rating on 200 to 240V. It is a sensible, easy TV rather than a high-end showpiece.

Where a 55-inch screen fits best
At 1226mm wide and 711mm tall without its stand, the Xiaomi TV A 55 suits viewing distances of roughly 1.5 to 2.5 metres, which is typical for a bedroom or a compact living room. The feet span a 1100mm base, so check the unit you put it on. On the wall it is light enough at 9.1kg for a simple fixed or tilting bracket with the VESA 200 x 300mm pattern. 4K resolution on a 55-inch screen keeps text in apps and subtitles sharp even when you sit close, and the 178 degree viewing angles help when the bed or sofa is off to one side.

Picture: 4K with HDR10 and HLG
The panel shows 3840 x 2160 pixels and 1.07 billion colours. Xiaomi lists HDR10, HLG and Filmmaker Mode; HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are not listed, so services that master only in Dolby Vision fall back to HDR10 or standard dynamic range. Xiaomi does not publish the panel type, a colour gamut or a peak brightness for the Xiaomi TV A 55, so we do not quote any. MEMC motion interpolation works at 4K 60Hz and smooths football and fast action, and you can turn it off for films.

Games and the 120Hz condition
The native refresh rate is 60Hz. Xiaomi says the screen moves up to 120Hz in Game Boost mode over HDMI, with a footnote that 120Hz works only at 1080p. In practice, a console sending 4K runs at up to 60Hz; to get 120Hz you drop it to 1080p and turn on Game Boost. HDMI 2 supports ALLM, which switches the TV to low-latency mode when a game starts. VRR is not listed. For a kids’ room with a console or casual weekend gaming, this is enough.

Google TV and casting
The Xiaomi TV A 55 runs Google TV with Google Assistant built in; Google TV needs an internet connection and a Google account, and Assistant availability varies by language and country. It works with Google Cast, supports Miracast, and supports Apple AirPlay, which Xiaomi recommends using with the latest iOS, iPadOS or macOS. A quad-core Cortex-A55 processor, Mali-G52 MC1 graphics, 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage run the system, which is fine for the main streaming apps but leaves little room for many large installs.

Sound, ports and power
Two 10W speakers support Dolby Audio, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X; Xiaomi notes the content must carry those formats. For fuller sound connect a soundbar through HDMI 2 with eARC or through the optical output. There are three HDMI ports, one USB 2.0 port, Ethernet and a CI+ slot, plus dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Xiaomi lists 110W power consumption and 0.5W or less in standby on 200 to 240V, 50/60Hz, the lowest in this range and handy for a TV that stays on in a bedroom.

Who This Is Not For
The Xiaomi TV A 55 is not for buyers who want Dolby Vision, HDR10+ or a published high brightness for a bright room. It is not a gaming TV: 120Hz is limited to 1080p and VRR is not listed. A family majlis watched from four metres away calls for the 65-inch or larger. And the 2 x 10W speakers and 8GB of storage are basic.
