Modern TVs have thin bodies and small speakers, and dialogue often gets lost under music and effects. The Xiaomi Soundbar Pro 2.1 fixes the two weak points at once: the bar handles voices and mid-range detail through its two full-range drivers, while the subwoofer takes over the low end that a TV simply cannot reproduce.
Xiaomi describes the set as three drivers in total. The 2.1 layout means left and right channels in the bar plus a dedicated low-frequency channel in the subwoofer. There are no up-firing or rear speakers, so the surround effect comes from processing, not from extra hardware around the room.

The subwoofer is the reason to choose a 2.1 set over a single bar. In this one, a 6.5-inch driver sits in a large cabinet measuring 363 x 249 x 249mm and weighing about 5.14kg. Xiaomi rates it at up to 180W, which is more than half of the system’s 300W maximum. The link between bar and subwoofer is wireless, so you can place the cabinet beside the sofa or in a corner without running a speaker cable across the floor.
Wireless here refers to the audio link only. The subwoofer has no battery, so it still needs a power socket nearby. Xiaomi also states that the subwoofer supports tabletop or floor placement only; it is not designed to be wall mounted. Dolby Audio, DTS Virtual:X and Six Sound Modes
On the decoding side, the Xiaomi Soundbar Pro 2.1 supports Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Digital Surround. Xiaomi notes that the source device and the content must support these formats for them to work. The DTS Virtual:X mode uses processing to create a broader soundstage and an impression of height from the front bar alone.
Six modes are available from the remote: Standard (the default), Music, Film, Game, News and DTS Virtual:X. According to Xiaomi’s support notes, each mode adjusts bass and treble differently, so News lifts voices for talk shows and bulletins, while Film and Game give more weight to effects and the subwoofer.
Connecting the Xiaomi Soundbar Pro 2.1: HDMI ARC, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth, NFC
For most TVs, HDMI (ARC) is the best option, and an HDMI cable is included in the box. Xiaomi’s support page explains that with HDMI CEC the soundbar powers on and off together with the TV, and you can control volume with the TV remote. Optical and coaxial inputs work with older TVs, receivers and consoles, but power sync through HDMI CEC is not available on those inputs.
For music from a phone, Bluetooth 5.3 supports the A2DP and AVRCP profiles; LDAC is not supported. Android phones on Android 8.1 or later can pair by tapping the NFC area on the bar after switching to the BT input. Xiaomi notes that pairing mode times out after 3 minutes. Design, Placement and Daily Use
The bar has a honeycomb brushed-metal finish, a metal mesh front and a hidden display that dims after about 30 seconds without input while the audio keeps playing. It also has no Wi-Fi, so there is no multi-room audio, AirPlay, Chromecast or app. There is no HDMI input for passing a console signal through, only HDMI ARC.
