The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max is the top model of Xiaomi’s X20 family. It vacuums with up to 8000Pa of suction, mops with two rotating pads, and swings one mop out by about 40mm so it can clean along walls and furniture legs, down to 2mm from the edge in Xiaomi’s test. Back at the Omni Station it empties its dust, washes the pads with hot water at about 55°C and dries them with hot air. An automatic hair-cutting brush comes in the box for homes with long hair or pets.

8000Pa suction and the hair-cutting brush
Xiaomi measured the 8000Pa figure on a fully charged unit with a lab tester, and notes that suction varies with the environment. Four suction levels are set in the app, and Carpet boost raises suction automatically on rugs when it is enabled, though not in Turbo mode. The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max ships with a standard main brush fitted and an automatic hair-cutting brush in the accessory pack. Its concealed blades cut hair as it wraps, and Xiaomi’s lab test found entanglement of no more than 10% of the total hair.
Edge mopping down to 2mm
Round robots usually leave a damp-free strip along skirting boards. On the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max the mop arm extends about 40mm toward walls and furniture legs, and Xiaomi measured a minimum distance of 2mm or less from the edge in Vacuuming and Mopping mode with Mop Swing turned on. This matters in UAE homes with long runs of tiled or marble floor where fine dust collects at the walls.
Navigation, sensors and carpets
An LDS laser with 360-degree scanning builds the map, plans routes, stores multiple floors and resumes where cleaning stopped. A 120-degree wide-area structured light sensor handles obstacles, an edge sensor measures distance and height, and a cliff sensor stops falls on stairs. Xiaomi quotes plus or minus 5mm precision within 500mm. An ultrasonic sensor detects carpets and lifts the pads by up to 10mm; for carpets thicker than 8mm or shaggy rugs, Xiaomi recommends Carpet avoidance mode.
The Omni Station: hot-water wash and hot-air drying
The station collects dust in a disposable bag, and Xiaomi says it is not full for at least 75 days in a 120 square metre carpeted home with three people and a pet cleaned daily. It washes the pads with water at about 55°C on its Hot setting, with two water levels in the app, then dries them with hot air, reaching over 99% dryness in about 3 hours at a claimed noise of 50dB or less. The clean tank holds 4L, enough for more than 200 square metres in Standard mode. Xiaomi does not publish the dirty tank or dust bag volume.
Battery, size and power
The battery is 4800mAh rated and 5200mAh nominal, giving up to 120 minutes of vacuuming and mopping in Standard mode. The robot (model D109GL) measures 350mm across and 97mm high and weighs 3.9kg, so it needs at least 97mm of clearance under furniture. The station measures 340 x 420 x 563mm and takes 220 to 240V at 50/60Hz, matching UAE mains. Control is through the Xiaomi Home app with schedules and no-go zones, plus Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant on compatible devices.
Who This Is Not For
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum X20 Max is not for homes with mostly thick or shaggy carpet, where Xiaomi advises Carpet avoidance mode. Xiaomi lists no camera, so cables and socks on the floor should be picked up first. Its 120-minute runtime is shorter than the X20 Pro’s 160 minutes, which matters in very large single-floor villas. There is no automatic water refill or drain connection listed, so tanks are filled and emptied by hand, and dust bags are consumables.
