The Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro (Xiaomi model R03) is a plug-in repeater that picks up your router’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and rebroadcasts it into the rooms the router cannot reach well. It has two external antennas in a 2×2 layout, a rated link rate of up to 300Mbps, and room for up to 16 devices at once. It is a small fix for a specific problem: a bedroom, majlis, balcony or upstairs room where the signal drops. Every specification below is taken from Xiaomi’s own product and specification pages.

Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro: What It Does
The extender connects to your existing router wirelessly, then broadcasts a stronger signal further into the house. Xiaomi names the typical trouble spots as bathrooms, balconies and bedrooms, and lists laptops, tablets, phones, game consoles and smart TVs as the devices that benefit.
Xiaomi says the best connection is selected automatically, so devices move between the router and the Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro without you choosing a network by hand. It does not replace the router and it does not raise the speed of your internet plan; it carries the router’s existing connection to places the router signal was too weak to serve.
Two External Antennas and the 300Mbps Figure
The Pro version uses a 2×2 external antenna design, which Xiaomi says maintains a transmission rate of up to 300Mbps while improving signal stability. The radio works on 2.4GHz only, to the IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards.
Read the 300Mbps as the maximum wireless link rate between devices, not as the internet speed you will see. Real throughput through any repeater is lower than its link rate, and it falls further with distance and walls. The 2.4GHz band is the one that travels best through walls, which is why it suits extending coverage, but it is also the busier band in apartment buildings.
Up to 16 Devices at Once
Xiaomi rates the Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro for up to 16 devices connected simultaneously. In a typical UAE family home that covers the phones, a tablet, a smart TV and a few smart-home devices in the area the extender serves.
Inside, Xiaomi lists a MediaTek MT7628K processor at 580MHz with 2MB of ROM and 8MB of RAM. The extender draws 3.57W and accepts 100–240V input, so it runs on UAE mains power.
Setup in the Mi Home App
Setup follows Xiaomi’s steps. Place the Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro near the router and switch it on. When the indicator light flashes yellow, scan the QR code to install the Mi Home app, then follow the prompts to add the device. When the light turns blue, pairing is complete.
After that you can unplug it and move it to its final spot without configuring it again. Xiaomi recommends a location between the router and the dead zone, where the router’s signal is still strong and stable, and the Mi Home app shows the signal so you can find that spot.
Security, Size and Operating Range
The extender supports WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK encryption. It measures 80 × 54 × 70 mm, small enough to sit on a wall socket behind furniture. Xiaomi lists an operating temperature of 0 to 40°C and humidity of 10 to 90% RH, non-condensing, so keep it indoors and away from a hot balcony or an unventilated cabinet. The box contains the Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro and a user manual.
Who This Is Not For
This is a 2.4GHz-only extender with no 5GHz band, so it will not carry the full speed of a fast fibre plan into another room; if you pay for several hundred Mbps and want that speed upstairs, a dual-band mesh system is the better fit. Xiaomi’s specification sheet lists no Ethernet port, so you cannot use it to wire a TV or console. The unit shown in our photos has a two-pin European plug, while UAE wall sockets are the three-pin British type, so you will need a plug adapter. For a large villa with several weak zones, one repeater will not cover everything.

FAQ
Does the Mi Wi-Fi Range Extender Pro support 5GHz?
No. It works on 2.4GHz only, to the IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards.
Will I get 300Mbps internet through it?
No. 300Mbps is the maximum wireless link rate; real throughput is lower and depends on your plan, distance and walls.
How many devices can connect?
16 devices at the same time, according to Xiaomi.
Does it need an app to set up?
Yes. Xiaomi’s setup uses the Mi Home app: scan the QR code, add the device, and the light turns blue when pairing is done.
Does it have an Ethernet port?
No Ethernet port is listed in Xiaomi’s specifications for this model.
Will the plug fit a UAE socket?
No, not directly for the unit pictured. It has a two-pin European plug, so a three-pin UK-type adapter is needed for UAE sockets.
