The dark finish is the most discreet of the three colours, which is why the PLAUD NotePin S Gray suits offices, boardrooms and client visits. Clipped to a dark jacket or worn on the magnetic pin under a lapel, it barely shows. Press the tactile button once to start recording; you feel the click, so there is no need to look at a phone in the middle of a conversation.
Press to Highlight is the other reason to pick the S over the original NotePin: tap the button during a meeting when a price, a deadline or a decision is mentioned, and the moment is marked in the recording so you can jump to it later in the app.
What is free and what needs a PLAUD plan
Transcription and summaries do not happen on the PLAUD NotePin S Gray itself. The PLAUD NotePin S Gray records audio; the PLAUD app uploads it and processes it in PLAUD’s cloud, so you need a smartphone and an internet connection for that step.
Every PLAUD NotePin S Gray comes with PLAUD’s free Starter plan: 300 transcription minutes a month. The minutes reset each billing month and unused minutes do not carry over. PLAUD’s paid Pro plan raises the allowance to 1,200 minutes a month and Unlimited removes the monthly cap; paid tiers also unlock extras such as AutoFlow and mind maps. Arabic, English and mixed-language meetings
For the PLAUD NotePin S Gray, PLAUD lists more than 112 transcription languages, and Arabic is on its published list, with automatic detection of the main language of a recording. There is one limitation that matters in the UAE: PLAUD states that multilingual transcription is not currently supported, so a meeting that switches heavily between Arabic and English will not transcribe cleanly. Keep each recording mostly in one language, or split the session.
Recording consent and privacy
PLAUD’s own guidance is clear: before recording, you are responsible for telling everyone present and getting any consent the law requires. Recording rules differ from country to country, including here, so ask for permission before you press the button, especially with clients, patients or colleagues.
On data handling, PLAUD lists ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA and EN 18031 compliance for its service. Recordings you upload are stored in PLAUD’s cloud under its privacy terms.

Who This Is Not For
PLAUD does not publish a water or sweat resistance rating for the PLAUD NotePin S Gray, so do not wear it in the rain or at the gym. Anyone with a pacemaker should not wear it on the chest: PLAUD warns that its magnetic parts reach up to 2,100 gauss. Heavy users will exceed 300 free minutes a month and need a paid plan, and bilingual meetings that mix Arabic and English are a weak spot.
