The PLAUD NOTE is an AI voice recorder the size of a credit card that attaches magnetically to the back of your phone. It records meetings, lectures, interviews and phone calls on its own, then the Plaud app turns the audio into a searchable transcript and a structured summary. Plaud lists it at 2.99 mm thin and 30 g, with 64GB of storage, up to 30 hours of continuous recording on a charge and transcription in more than 112 languages, Arabic included.

How it works
Press the button and the PLAUD NOTE starts recording to its own 64GB memory, with no need to open an app on the phone. Later the audio moves to the Plaud app over Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2, or over Wi-Fi for a faster transfer. Transcription and summaries are produced by the Plaud service in the app, not on the recorder itself. The Plaud app runs on iOS and Android, and the same account works on Plaud Web and Plaud Desktop, so you can search transcripts, label speakers and export notes from a computer too.

Phone call mode and in-person mode
The PLAUD NOTE carries two MEMS microphones and a VPU, a vibration conduction sensor. In phone call mode, the VPU picks up the call through the body of the phone while the recorder sits on its back, so both sides of the call are captured without a recording app on the phone. In in-person mode, the two MEMS microphones capture the room, and Plaud gives a recording range of up to 3 m (9.84 ft). That suits a meeting table, a one-to-one interview or the front rows of a classroom. Always get consent before recording a call or a meeting, and follow local rules on recording.

Transcription in 112+ languages, Arabic included
Plaud lists more than 112 transcription languages, and Arabic is among them. Plaud does not publish which Arabic dialects are covered, so accuracy with strong regional dialects is not something it states. You can choose the language or let the app detect it, and the summary follows the language of the recording. Plaud offers more than 10,000 summary templates, so the same recording can become meeting minutes, interview notes, action points or study notes for a lecture.

Battery, storage and charging
Plaud rates the 400 mAh battery at up to 30 hours of continuous recording and up to 60 days on standby. A full charge takes about 2 hours with the charging cable in the box. With 64GB of local storage, the PLAUD NOTE can hold a long backlog of recordings before you need to sync or delete anything. At 85.6 × 54.1 × 2.99 mm, it adds very little to a phone, and the magnetic case and magnetic ring in the box hold it on the back of the phone.

Plans and privacy
Each PLAUD NOTE comes with Plaud’s free Starter plan of 300 transcription minutes per month. Heavy users who transcribe several long meetings a day will need a paid Plaud plan for more minutes. Plaud states that its service complies with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA and EN 18031. If your employer has rules about sending recordings to cloud services, check them before using the AI features. Plaud positions the PLAUD NOTE for regular use, while its pricier Note Pro adds more microphones, a longer range and a small display.
Who This Is Not For
The PLAUD NOTE is not for anyone who needs transcription without internet or a cloud account: it records offline, but transcripts and summaries come from the Plaud service. The free plan stops at 300 minutes a month, so daily heavy use needs a subscription. There is no screen, so playback and editing happen in the app or on a computer. With a 3 m range and two room microphones, it is not the right tool for a large lecture hall with a distant speaker.
