The Logitech Tap IP is a touch controller for video meeting rooms. It connects to the room system over the network and takes its power from the same Ethernet cable (PoE), so you do not need a separate power socket or a USB cable back to a room PC. This unit is Graphite, part number 952-000085.

Logitech lists a 10.1-inch IPS LCD at 1280 × 800 with 10-point capacitive touch, 400 nits brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 85° viewing angles in every direction. The screen sits at a 14° angle for easy reach across a table.

The Logitech Tap IP is an IEEE 802.3af Type 1, Class 3 PoE device with 10/100 Mbps Ethernet. Your network switch or a PoE injector must supply 802.3af power. Logitech also lists Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 5.0.

Sensors

An integrated PIR motion sensor detects when people enter the room, and there is an accelerometer and an ambient light sensor, according to Logitech.

The controller measures 56.1 × 246.2 × 171.3 mm and weighs 1.0 kg. It has a 100 × 100 mm VESA pattern. Table, riser and wall mounts are optional accessories from Logitech and are not in the box.

Logitech lists the Tap IP touch controller, four VESA mounting screws, a microfibre cloth and documentation. The network cable is not listed.

Who the Logitech Tap IP is not for

It is not for rooms without PoE, unless you add an 802.3af injector. It is not for platforms outside Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android and Zoom Rooms, the two Logitech lists. It is not for home video calls; it is a meeting-room controller.
