The JBL Xtreme 4 Camo is the outdoor-styled version of JBL’s large portable speaker, finished in what JBL calls Black Camo: a dark camouflage print in black, grey and olive tones across the fabric, with black rubber ends. Underneath the pattern it is the same speaker as every other Xtreme 4: two 70 mm woofers, two 20 mm tweeters, dual passive radiators, an IP67 body and a 68 Wh battery that you can swap yourself. JBL rates the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo at up to 24 hours of music per charge, with up to 6 more through Playtime Boost, and its USB-C port can charge your phone in the middle of nowhere.

Who the camo pattern suits
The camo finish is made for people who take a speaker where the road ends: winter camping in the Liwa or Hatta areas, dune trips, fishing from the rocks or a weekend at a farm. The busy pattern hides dust, scuffs and sand stains far better than a plain blue or even a solid black, so the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo still looks presentable after a season of being thrown into the back of a car. It also suits anyone who already carries camo-style gear, coolers or bags and wants the speaker to match the rest of the kit rather than stand out.

A camp-site power bank
On a trip without sockets, the USB-C port is as useful as the speaker. It outputs 5 V / 3 A, 9 V / 2 A or 11 V / 2 A, so the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo can top up a phone or a small torch overnight. The 68 Wh battery (7.2 V / 9,444 mAh) is large for a speaker, but every charge you give a phone comes out of your music time, so plan around it. Before you leave, a full recharge takes about 3.5 hours at 20 V / 3 A, and a 10-minute charge gives around 2 hours if you are in a hurry.

Sound on battery and on mains
JBL publishes two output figures. On the PD adapter the woofers run at 2 × 30 W RMS and the tweeters at 2 × 20 W RMS; on battery, which is how most camping use happens, it is 2 × 20 W RMS and 2 × 15 W RMS. That is still plenty for an open-air gathering, but the full figure needs mains power. JBL lists a 44 Hz to 20 kHz response and an SNR above 80 dB, and AI Sound Boost adjusts the drive in real time to reduce distortion at high volume. EQ presets and a custom EQ are in the JBL Portable app.

Playtime and the replaceable battery
Up to 24 hours per charge is JBL’s figure, and it depends on volume and content: loud bass-heavy music at night by the fire will give less. Playtime Boost can add up to 6 more hours by retuning the sound, a handy reserve on the last night of a trip. Because the battery is user-replaceable with the JBL Battery 400 (sold separately), the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo can stay in service for years, and a second battery is a practical idea for long trips without power.

Sand, water and heat
IP67 covers what outdoor trips throw at it: the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo is dust-tight and survives submersion in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. After a sandy day, rinse it gently with fresh water and let it dry. The limit to remember is heat. JBL lists a maximum operating temperature of 45 °C, and a closed car or open sand at noon in the UAE easily goes past that, so keep it in a shaded tent or under the car rather than in the sun.

Connecting more speakers
At a camp with several friends, Auracast lets the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo play in sync with other Auracast JBL speakers, and JBL says older PartyBoost speakers can join through the app. Two Xtreme 4 units can also be set as a stereo pair. Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint keeps two phones connected at once.

Who This Is Not For
The JBL Xtreme 4 Camo weighs 2.1 kg, so it is not for hiking long distances on foot or for a bicycle. JBL does not list a 3.5 mm audio input. Maximum output needs mains power, which is rarely available at a camp, and the 45 °C operating limit means it cannot be left in direct desert sun. Box contents vary by region: some versions include a PD adapter and some do not. If you want the newest JBL model in this size, look at the Xtreme 5.

JBL Xtreme 4 Camo FAQ
Is the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo different from the black model?
No. The drivers, battery and features are the same; only the fabric has a camouflage print, which JBL calls Black Camo.
Does the camo pattern hide dirt?
Yes. The mixed dark pattern hides dust, scuffs and sand stains better than plain colours, which suits outdoor use.
Can the JBL Xtreme 4 Camo charge my phone on a camping trip?
Yes. Its USB-C port works as a power bank at up to 11 V / 2 A, which reduces the speaker’s own playtime.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 24 hours per charge depending on volume and content, plus up to 6 hours with Playtime Boost.
Can it be left in a car in summer?
No. JBL lists a maximum operating temperature of 45 °C, which a parked car in the UAE often exceeds.
Is the battery replaceable?
Yes. It is user-replaceable with the JBL Battery 400, sold separately.
Is it genuine?
Yes. We sell the genuine JBL Xtreme 4 Camo, brand-new in its sealed box.
How long does delivery take?
3 business days at most across the UAE. Orders from AED 300 ship free, and the checkout page shows any current fee for your order.
