The Anker Nano 45W Black is a good bedside charger because of Care Mode. After the fast stage, the charger lowers its temperature. Anker says that in Care Mode it stays up to 20°C (36°F) under international safety limits, and that in its own lab test, charging from 0 to 100% at 25°C, the phone battery stayed up to 5°C (9°F) cooler than with other 45W chargers. The GaN design, ActiveShield 5.0 protection and internal thermal pads keep it in check, though Anker notes that some warmth during 45W charging is normal.
Travel and the folding prongs
At 34 × 35.5 × 40 mm and 75 g, the Anker Nano 45W Black is about the size of a matchbox. Anker says it is 47% smaller and 36% lighter than a standard 30W charger. The two prongs fold away completely for packing, and can be set at 90° like a normal cube or at 180° so the charger rests against the wall behind furniture. The prongs are the two-pin type shown on Anker’s page, so in the UAE you will use it with a three-pin plug adapter or an extension strip that accepts two-pin plugs.
Who This Is Not For
The Anker Nano 45W Black does not suit anyone who needs two ports, because it charges one device at a time. There is no cable in the box. Samsung Galaxy S23 and S24 Plus and Ultra models stop at 27W on it, Lightning iPhones get no model or battery read-out, and Anker does not list laptops among supported devices. Its two-pin prongs need an adapter for a UAE three-pin socket.
