Min Min amiibo is Nintendo’s figure of Min Min, the ramen-loving fighter from ARMS who joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as downloadable content. It belongs to the Super Smash Bros. series of amiibo and, according to Nintendo, was released on 26 April 2022. Nintendo describes her as a noodle-shop heiress from the famous Mintendo Noodle House, whose arena sits in front of the restaurant and is shaped like a giant ramen bowl. The figure shows her mid-punch with her signature beanie and coiled arm, and the base holds an NFC chip that Nintendo Switch games can read.

Min Min as a Figure Player in Smash Ultimate
The main use of Min Min amiibo is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The official Smash Bros. site explains that tapping an amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. collection on the NFC touchpoint brings in its Figure Player, or FP. Your Min Min FP fights under computer control and picks up new abilities and tactics with every battle, so it develops a personality of its own. Spirits you have collected can raise its attack and defence, and you can send it online to battle other players’ FPs while you are away, earning rewards and a chance at rare items.
A fighter with long, springy arms
In ARMS every fighter punches with extendable arms, and Min Min brings that style into Smash. Her long-range punches let her control space from a distance, which makes her an interesting partner or sparring opponent in FP form. On the shelf, the figure captures the same idea: one arm stretched out with its spring-like coil, the other raised, and her knitted beanie and outfit painted in detail. For fans of ARMS, which has few physical collectibles, Min Min amiibo is one of the official ways to own her.
Tapping amiibo on a Switch
Every amiibo has an NFC chip in its base. On a Nintendo Switch you hold the figure over the NFC touchpoint on the right Joy-Con stick or the Pro Controller when a game asks for it. Nintendo points out that amiibo compatibility and functionality differ from game to game, and that some games need a software update first. Nintendo’s amiibo site has a compatibility search to see which other games recognise Min Min amiibo and what they unlock with it.
Collecting the Smash Bros. DLC fighters
Min Min was one of the later fighters added to Smash Ultimate, so her figure belongs in the run of DLC amiibo that collectors try to complete. It stands on the standard round amiibo base and lines up with the rest of the Super Smash Bros. series. It also suits ARMS players and anyone who mains her in Smash, and as a gift it is a small, recognisable figure that a Smash fan will place on a desk or shelf straight away.
What Min Min amiibo will not do
The figure does not unlock Min Min as a fighter: she is paid DLC in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the amiibo brings in an FP for a fighter you already have. It has no battery and is not a controller. Outside Smash, what it does depends on each game, and many Switch games do not use amiibo at all, so treat it first as a Smash accessory and a collectible.
Who This Is Not For
Min Min amiibo is not for players who expect it to unlock Min Min in Smash Ultimate; the fighter must be bought as DLC first. It is not a play toy for young children, since it is a small, detailed collectible with a thin extended arm. Nintendo does not publish a list of rewards for it outside Smash, and functions vary by game.
