The Process of Elimination PS4 Deluxe Edition is a detective mystery adventure developed by Nippon Ichi Software and published in the West by NIS America. It launched on PS4 on 11 April 2023 in North America and 14 April 2023 in Europe. You follow Wato Hojo, an aspiring but unremarkable detective who joins a team of the country’s greatest minds to catch a notorious serial killer. NIS America Europe lists the Deluxe Edition as the PS4 game, a digital soundtrack and a mini art book. The game is a story-driven investigation adventure with Japanese voices and English text.

A Killer Among the Detectives
A serial killer known as the Quartering Duke has claimed more than a hundred victims and thrown the country into chaos. To stop him, the Detective Alliance, a group of the nation’s top detectives, gathers on Morgue, a secret island. Wato Hojo, a young man who dreams of being a detective but has no special talent, finds himself pulled into this elite team. Soon the group faces a terrifying discovery: the killer is hiding among the detectives themselves. NIS America describes an island with a labyrinth, a research facility and the Alliance’s manor, where the investigation unfolds. As trust breaks down, Wato must work with, and suspect, the people around him. The story deals with murder and violence, which is why the game carries a mature rating.
Investigate, Predict and Deduce
Process of Elimination mixes visual-novel storytelling with tactical investigation. According to NIS America, there are 14 playable detectives, each with their own skills, tools and personality, so choosing who does what matters. During conversations you make choices that reveal evidence for each case. Investigations take place on an interactive crime scene map, where you move detectives around to search areas and gather clues. A special ability called Denouement lets you absorb information, predict what will happen next and piece the case together. When you have enough evidence, you use deduction to narrow down the suspects. The pace is thoughtful, with long story scenes between investigation phases, so it rewards players who enjoy reading and solving puzzles.
Single-Player Mystery
Process of Elimination is a single-player game; the PlayStation Store lists 1 player with offline play enabled. There are no online modes and no multiplayer, and the game does not rely on servers. The voice acting is in Japanese and the on-screen text is in English, according to both NIS America Europe and the PlayStation Store. The Deluxe Edition adds a digital soundtrack and a mini art book. A free demo was released on the PlayStation Store for players who want to try the game first.
PAL R2 Deluxe Disc and PS5
You receive a new, factory-sealed PAL (R2) Deluxe Edition of Process of Elimination for PS4, which NIS America Europe lists with a mini art book and a digital soundtrack. PS4 games are region-free, so the disc plays on any PS4. The PlayStation Store says the game is playable on PS5, though some PS4 features may be missing; you need a PS5 with a disc drive. Delivered across the UAE in up to 3 business days, free on orders from AED 300.
Who This Is Not For
This is a text-heavy story game, so players who want action will find it slow. There are no English or Arabic voices: audio is Japanese only, with English text. The content includes blood, violence and suggestive themes, and NIS America Europe lists it as PEGI 16, so it is not for children. There is no multiplayer. The graphics are anime-style and simple, not a technical showcase.
