The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White is the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage version of Xiaomi’s biggest new phone in a plain white glass-fibre finish, supplied with a global ROM that was put on the phone before it reached us. With that software you get Google Play, a Google account sign-in and menus in English or Arabic, which a stock mainland unit does not offer. Xiaomi has so far released the 18 Pro Max only in China and has no official international edition, so this is China hardware carrying software that Xiaomi did not ship itself.

A clean, minimal look: the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White

White is the quietest colour in Xiaomi’s line-up of five finishes. The back is a single pale surface with the Xiaomi name low on the panel and almost no other decoration, and the frame is light as well. In Xiaomi’s own render the dark camera island and the rear screen glow green against it, so the only strong colour on the phone comes from the hardware itself and nothing competes with it.

That suits people who choose their devices the way they choose a desk or a watch: neutral, uncluttered, easy to match with any case, strap or wallpaper. It also looks at home next to a laptop in a bright room, whether that is a home office in Dubai Marina or a client meeting in Business Bay.

Glass fibre: texture, weight and fingerprints on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White

Xiaomi uses glass fibre, not glass, for White, Black and Ice Peach Pink. In the official photos the white back looks soft and slightly matte rather than mirror-like, and Xiaomi lists 235 g and 8.39 mm for these colours, which is 5 g lighter and 0.08 mm slimmer than the glass Galaxy Blue at 240 g and 8.47 mm.

A matte, textured surface normally keeps fingerprints and oily smudges less visible than polished glass, which is the main practical reason to pick this colour for daily handling. Xiaomi makes no claim about fingerprint resistance, so treat this as a general property of the material rather than a tested feature. White does show dust and pocket lint along the frame sooner than a dark phone, and the protective case in the box is there to help with that.

At the office with the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White

A working day is where the two screens earn their place. The 6.9-inch display handles email, documents and video calls, and its hardware privacy mode, which Xiaomi controls per app, hides content from people sitting next to you on a train or at a shared desk. The 2.9-inch rear screen shows the time and notifications while the phone lies face down in a meeting, so you can glance without lighting up the main display.

The 8500mAh battery is rated typical, with a 8350mAh minimum, and a 100W Xiaomi charger tops it up quickly between appointments. For a phone that is used for calls, scanning documents and photographing whiteboards, the 200MP main camera and the 3.2x optical periscope are more than enough.

What the global ROM changes on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White

Hardware is exactly what Xiaomi lists on its China pages; only the software differs. The installed ROM gives English and Arabic and Google Play services, but it is not an official Xiaomi global release for this model because none exists yet. Updates may therefore reach you on a different schedule or in a different form from a future international unit.

Features that belong to China services, such as Mi Pay, mainland transit cards and call recording for WeChat and QQ, should not be expected. Xiaomi’s China specifications do not mention Google Wallet, so do not buy this phone to pay with a UAE bank card at the till.

Networks and SIM on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White

The radios are the China set. For 5G Xiaomi lists n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n12/n13/n14/n18/n20/n25/n26/n28/n29/n38/n40/n41/n48/n66/n70/n71/n77/n78/n79/n80/n81/n83/n84/n89, and the full 4G, 3G and 2G lists are in the specifications below. Xiaomi notes that real coverage depends on the operator’s own deployment and that n3, n80, n81 and n89 need a later software update.

There is no Xiaomi statement about UAE operators for this model, so compare the list with your plan if you depend on one band. Xiaomi China shows two Nano-SIM trays and does not mention eSIM.

Who This Is Not For

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global ROM White is the wrong choice if you want Xiaomi’s official global edition with a confirmed update path, if you need eSIM, or if you want to pay with the phone at UAE terminals. It also carries no Xiaomi UAE warranty, because it is a China unit; our own 1-year warranty applies instead. White is a poor pick if you hate cleaning: the frame and camera ring mark more easily than on black. And at 163.39 x 77.6 mm it is large, so people who want a compact phone should look elsewhere. Xiaomi does not publish the charger plug type for China.
