The They Always Run PS4 disc is a 2D side-scrolling action adventure developed by Alawar, released on PS4 in 2022 and published digitally by Plug In Digital, according to the PlayStation Store. The genre mixes action and platforming with a space-western setting: you play Aiden, a three-armed bounty hunter who tracks dangerous criminals across a galaxy overrun by crime since the fall of its empire. His third arm lets him fight several enemies at once and change the world around him. It is a single-player game rated 16+ for strong violence on the UAE PlayStation Store.

A Bounty Hunter With Three Arms
They Always Run is set in a galaxy that, according to the developer, has been overrun by crime since the fall of its empire. You play Aiden, a mutant with a third arm, who earns his living as a bounty hunter chasing elusive criminals. Some bounties pay in money, while others pay in information about the people behind Aiden’s transformation and his path into bounty hunting. Following that information pulls him into a conspiracy that spreads across the whole galaxy. The official description promises a story full of twists, told alongside the action rather than in place of it. Your hunts take you from the lawless fringes of the galaxy to its core worlds and into the ruins of ancient civilisations, so each new contract brings a different setting, new enemies and another piece of the larger mystery.
Third-Arm Combat and Platforming
The third arm is the core of the gameplay. According to the PlayStation Store and the developer’s official page, it lets Aiden handle more enemies at the same time, perform targeted attacks and throws, and land destructive blows on both enemies and obstacles. It is also a tool for exploration: you use it to interact with and change the environment, opening new paths through each level. The action is fast and side-scrolling, mixing combat with jumping and climbing across 2D stages. As you complete bounties you upgrade your equipment and gain new abilities, which makes Aiden stronger and opens more ways to approach fights. The pace rewards quick reactions and using all three arms together rather than simply pressing attack, and the science-fiction locations change as the hunt moves across the galaxy.
Single-Player Campaign
They Always Run is a single-player game for 1 player, and the UAE PlayStation Store lists offline play as enabled, so no internet connection or PlayStation Plus membership is needed to play the campaign. The Store lists on-screen languages as English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese. The age rating on the UAE Store is IARC 16+ for strong violence. There is no online multiplayer listed by the publisher. The whole experience is built around Aiden’s story and his hunts, with progress driven by the bounties you complete and the upgrades you unlock along the way.
PAL R2 Disc, Region and PS5
You receive a new, factory-sealed PAL Region 2 PS4 disc of They Always Run. PS4 games are region-free, so the disc plays on any PS4 console. The PlayStation Store notes that the game can be played on PS5 through backward compatibility, although some PS4 features may be absent; a PS5 with a disc drive is needed for this disc. Delivered across the UAE in up to 3 business days, free on orders from AED 300.
Who This Is Not For
This is a 2D side-scroller, so players looking for 3D open-world action will be disappointed. It is single-player only, with no online multiplayer, and the 16+ rating for strong violence makes it unsuitable for young children. There is no Arabic language option. The publisher does not state an official length, and fans of large RPGs may find the scope modest.
