165Hz AMOLED display
The OnePlus Nord 6 screen is a 6.78-inch Sunburst AMOLED at 2772 x 1272 (OnePlus calls it 1.5K), 450 ppi and 10-bit colour. The refresh rate steps between 60, 90, 120, 144 and 165Hz, so motion stays smooth in supported games while static content uses lower rates. OnePlus lists brightness as 800 nits adjustable, 1800 nits full-screen in high-brightness mode and 3600 nits peak, the last being a small-area figure rather than a whole-screen level. It also lists 3840Hz PWM dimming for people sensitive to flicker at low brightness, touch sampling up to 3200Hz with a dedicated chip, and Crystal Guard protection on the glass.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 165 FPS gaming
The processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform with an Adreno 825 GPU, backed by a 33,147 mm² heat-dissipation area. OnePlus advertises steady 165 FPS in games, but its footnotes set the conditions: the 12GB variant, Pro Gamer mode on, in-game settings at the 165 FPS level, screen at 280 nits and an ambient temperature of 25°C. A hot UAE afternoon is far warmer than that, and any phone lowers frame rates as it heats up. Treat 165 FPS as what the OnePlus Nord 6 achieves in controlled conditions with supported titles, not in every game everywhere.
9,000mAh battery and 80W charging
The 12GB + 256GB OnePlus Nord 6 uses a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, according to OnePlus India. Charging reaches 80W through SUPERVOOC, and the India box includes the 80W SUPERVOOC power adapter and a USB-A to USB-C cable. With a standard USB PD charger the phone accepts 13.5W, or up to 55W over PPS. Bypass charging feeds the phone straight from the adapter while you play, which limits battery heat, and 27W reverse wired charging can top up earbuds or another phone. OnePlus does not list wireless charging for the Nord 6.
Cameras: 50MP Sony LYTIA-600 main
The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA-600 sensor (1/1.953 inch) with an f/1.8 lens and dual-axis optical image stabilisation, and records video up to 4K at 60 fps. The second rear camera is an 8MP OmniVision OV08F ultra-wide with a 112° field of view and f/2.2, useful in good light for buildings and group shots but clearly weaker than the main camera at night. The front camera is 32MP with autofocus and records 4K at 30 fps. There is no telephoto lens: OnePlus lists 0.6x to 20x digital zoom, so anything beyond the main lens is a crop.
IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection
OnePlus rates the OnePlus Nord 6 IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K and lists the MIL-STD-810H military standard. Its footnotes describe the tests: water jets, still fresh water at 1.5 m for 30 minutes, and 80°C water jets from several angles. The ratings apply to fresh water only; OnePlus says not to use the phone in seawater without a case, not to charge it while wet, and notes that resistance can decrease with wear. The phone measures 162.5 x 77.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 217g in the India specification, so it is a large, heavy phone.
Software, connectivity and what is in the box
The OnePlus Nord 6 runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and OnePlus commits to 4 major Android updates and 6 years of security updates. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 with LDAC, aptX Adaptive and LHDC 5.0, NFC and dual nano-SIM with dual active support; there is no eSIM and no microSD slot. The India model lists 5G bands n1, n3, n5, n8, n28, n38, n40, n41, n48, n77 and n78. Who This Is Not For
The OnePlus Nord 6 is not for anyone who wants optical zoom, as there is no telephoto camera. It has no wireless charging, no eSIM and no microSD slot, so 256GB is the permanent storage. At 217g and 8.5 mm it is heavy for one-handed use. The 8MP ultra-wide is modest in low light. And because this 12GB + 256GB configuration is the Indian-market model, its 5G band list is shorter than OnePlus’s global version.
