Lunar Remastered Collection PS4 – Two Classic JRPGs, Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue, English and Japanese Voices – PAL R2 Disc

The Lunar Remastered Collection PS4 release brings two beloved Japanese role-playing games together on one disc: LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete and LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete. Published by GungHo Online Entertainment, it launched on 18 April 2025, according to the PlayStation Store. The original versions were developed by ALFA SYSTEM (1998) and VANGUARD (1999). This remastered edition adds enhanced graphics, audio and quality-of-life improvements, with English and Japanese voices and on-screen text in English, French, German and Japanese. It is a single-player RPG rated PEGI 12.

Two Journeys, a Thousand Years Apart

The collection tells two connected stories. In LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete, you follow Alex, a young man who dreams of becoming a Dragonmaster. According to the PlayStation Store, he sets out with his friends to stop the Magic Emperor from taking over the world. The second game, LUNAR 2: Eternal Blue Complete, is set a thousand years later. Hiro and his friends search for the Goddess Althena alongside a mysterious girl named Lucia, while facing powerful enemies such as Borgan and White Knight Leo. Both adventures are classic fantasy tales about friendship, courage and destiny, with character designs by Toshiyuki Kubooka. Playing them in order lets you see how the world of LUNAR changes across the centuries between the two journeys.

Classic JRPG Adventure, Remastered

Both games follow the traditional Japanese role-playing structure: you explore towns, dungeons and the world map, talk to characters, gather a party and fight enemies in turn-based battles. Characters grow stronger as you progress, and the story is told through dialogue and animated scenes. GungHo describes this as the definitive remastered edition, featuring enhanced graphics, audio and quality-of-life improvements, while keeping the spirit of the 1990s originals. The PlayStation Store lists DUALSHOCK 4 vibration support, manual saving and basic controller remapping. The game is also PS4 Pro Enhanced. Because two full RPGs are included on one disc, the collection offers a long adventure for anyone who enjoys story-driven fantasy role-playing at their own pace.

Single-Player, Offline, Two Voice Languages

LUNAR Remastered Collection is a single-player game for 1 player, and the PlayStation Store confirms offline play is enabled. There is no online mode or multiplayer. Voice audio is available in English and Japanese, and on-screen text supports English, French, German and Japanese. Accessibility options listed by Sony include individual volume controls, basic subtitles, basic controller remapping, and play without button holds, motion controls or vibration. The game is rated PEGI 12 for language, sexual content and violence, so it suits teens and adults.

PAL R2 Disc and PS5 Playback

This is a new, sealed physical PS4 disc for the PAL (R2) region, covering Europe and the Middle East. PS4 games are region-free, so it plays on any PS4 in the UAE. The PlayStation Store states the game is playable on PS5, though the console may need the latest system software and some PS4 features may be missing; use a PS5 with a disc drive. Covered by a 1-year warranty from Totot.

Who This Is Not For

Players who want modern action or open-world RPGs: these are remastered 1990s games with turn-based battles and a classic structure. There is no multiplayer or online mode. There is no Arabic language support; text is limited to English, French, German and Japanese. Players who dislike long story scenes and level grinding may find the pace slow.
