The Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum is the smaller of Kooduu’s two lantern speaker lamps, finished in its deepest colour. Kooduu writes the model as Lite-up PLAY Mini and pairs it with SOUND BY JBL. At 29 cm tall and 0.93 kg, it is sized for a bedside table, a desk or a bookshelf rather than the centre of a dining table, and it carries an 8 watt speaker, a warm dimmable LED and a battery rated for up to 11 hours.

Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum on a Small Surface
On a large lamp, a dark colour reads as a solid block. On the Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum it works differently: the smaller size makes the deep green-blue feel like an accent, similar to a dark ceramic vase or a bound book on a shelf. The Petroleum tone sits on the soft-touch rubber finish, while Kooduu lists the body as white PE, and that white body is what glows when the lamp is switched on.
That makes Petroleum a good colour for tight spaces with dark furniture: a walnut bedside table, a black metal shelf unit, a desk in a study with navy or bottle-green walls. The light wooden handle on top gives some contrast, so the lamp does not disappear entirely in daylight.
Because it is often placed at arm’s reach, the Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum gets handled more than a floor or table centrepiece. Dust and fingerprints show more on the dark matte finish than on Sand, so wipe it with a dry microfibre cloth every week or two.
Where the Mini Fits Best
A bedside lamp that also plays music is the obvious use. Warm 2700 K light is kind to the eyes before sleep, and an 8 W speaker at low volume is enough for an audiobook or a playlist in a bedroom, streamed from your phone over Bluetooth 5.3.
It also suits a home office. On a desk, a full-size 40 cm lantern gets in the way; the 29 cm Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum does not, and 21 cm of width leaves room for a laptop and a notebook. In a hotel apartment or a small studio apartment in Dubai Marina or Al Reem, it covers both the lamp and the speaker role without taking up two spots on a shelf.
And it is easy to carry. At 0.93 kg with a handle shaped for one hand, you can take it from the bedroom to the balcony and back without thinking about it.
8 W Sound by JBL
Kooduu specifies an 8 watt full-range speaker with SOUND BY JBL, which is 2 W less than the full-size Lite-up PLAY. One full-range driver covers the whole frequency range from a single cone. It is tuned for background music in a small space, not for volume outdoors. Kooduu does not publish a frequency response or maximum volume.
The Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum connects over Bluetooth 5.3, and Kooduu lists True Wireless Stereo, so two units can play together as a stereo pair. Two units of the Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum on either side of a bed or a desk make a neat symmetrical setup.
Light and Slide Dimming
The light comes from a 1.5 W LED at 2700 Kelvin, a warm white close to a traditional filament bulb. Kooduu describes it as dimmable via a slide control. It does not publish a lumen figure or a number of brightness levels for the Lite-up PLAY Mini, and we do not estimate one.
In practice the Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum is a night-time lamp: enough for a bedside or a dim corner, not enough for reading small print across a room or for work lighting.
Battery and Charging
The Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum has a 2200 mAh battery rated by Kooduu for up to 11 hours. That is a maximum; brighter light and louder music use more power, and Kooduu does not publish a separate figure for moderate use on the Mini.
A full charge takes 4 hours through a USB-C port, and the charging cable is included. Kooduu does not list a wall adapter, so use a phone charger. Do not leave the lamp in a hot car or in direct summer sun on a balcony, which is hard on any lithium battery.
Who This Is Not For
Not for anyone who wants a party speaker. 8 W from one full-range driver suits a bedroom or a desk, not a garden gathering.
Not for poolside or rain use. Kooduu publishes no water or dust rating for the Kooduu Lite Up Play Mini Petroleum, so keep it dry.
Not for a large dining table as the main light. For a long table or a terrace, the full-size Lite-up PLAY at 40 cm and 10 W is the better choice.
Not for anyone who needs a published brightness figure. Kooduu lists the LED wattage and colour temperature, but no lumens.
