The JBL Endurance Peak 4 is JBL’s ear-hook sports earbud, and this is the purple version: violet hooks and case with teal ear tips and a teal JBL logo. It is the first Endurance Peak with Adaptive Noise Cancelling, and JBL pairs it with Smart Ambient, 10mm drivers, six microphones and IP68 protection for the earbuds. JBL rates the JBL Endurance Peak 4 at up to 12 hours per charge with noise cancelling off and up to 48 hours in total with the charging case.

The purple JBL Endurance Peak 4 up close
In JBL’s photos the purple finish is a saturated violet rather than a pastel, and the ear tips, the logo and the trim inside the case are teal. The contrast makes the JBL Endurance Peak 4 easy to spot on a bench at the gym or at the bottom of a sports bag, and it looks like training gear rather than office earbuds.
Purple suits people who like their kit to match: a purple bottle, bright running shoes or a team colour. On a matte coloured surface, salt marks from dried sweat are less obvious than on black, but scuffs on the hooks can show over time. Wipe the hooks with a damp cloth after a sweaty session and let them dry before they go back in the case.
TwistLock ear hooks built for running and training
The JBL Endurance Peak 4 uses JBL’s TwistLock design: you place the earbud in the ear and twist it back so the hook settles behind the ear. JBL makes the hook from liquid silicone with a memory wire inside, so it can be shaped to your ear and holds that shape, and adds its OvalTubes nozzle shape for the fit inside the ear.
Three sizes of ear tips are in the box. Each earbud weighs 10.5 g, heavier than a small stemless bud, but the weight sits on the ear rather than hanging from it, which is why ear-hook designs stay put on runs, rope work and burpees.
Adaptive Noise Cancelling and Smart Ambient for the gym and the road
Four of the six microphones on the JBL Endurance Peak 4 sense outside noise for Adaptive Noise Cancelling, which helps against gym music, treadmill hum or a noisy commute to training. Smart Ambient does the reverse and brings outside sound in, which matters on a road run when you need to hear traffic and cyclists.
Sound comes from 10mm dynamic drivers tuned for JBL Pure Bass, with Spatial Sound for a wider stage. JBL lists a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 108 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz/1 mW and 16 ohms impedance. In the JBL Headphones app, Personi-fi 3.0 builds a sound profile around your hearing, and activity presets change the sound for different workouts.
Battery, charging and protection
JBL’s figures for the JBL Endurance Peak 4 are up to 12 hours per charge with noise cancelling off and up to 8 hours with it on. The case adds up to 36 more hours, for up to 48 hours in total. A 10-minute speed charge gives about 4 hours, and a full charge takes about 2 hours. JBL does not list wireless charging for the case.
The earbuds are rated IP68 against dust and water, so sweat, rain and a rinse are covered, while the charging case is rated only IPX2. Dry the earbuds before you put them back in the case, and keep the case away from water.
Calls, multipoint and the app
For calls, three microphones in each earbud and a windproof design keep your voice clear outdoors. Bluetooth 5.4 and multipoint let the JBL Endurance Peak 4 stay connected to two devices, such as a phone and a watch or a laptop.
Fast Pair by Google speeds up pairing with Android, and JBL lists Google Find support and Audio Switch. Bluetooth profiles are A2DP 1.4, AVRCP 1.6.3 and HFP 1.8.
Who This Is Not For
The JBL Endurance Peak 4 is not for anyone who wants small earbuds for the office or for sleeping: the hooks and the 80.5 g case are bulky next to stemless earbuds, and they do not fit under a tight hat or helmet as easily. The hook can also press on glasses arms for some people.
If you swim with your earbuds, note that the case is only IPX2 even though the earbuds are IP68. If you want a quiet, low-key colour, the purple is loud by design; the Black/Grey version is the subtle choice with the same features. And if you want a wireless charging case, JBL does not list one for this model.

FAQ
Is the purple JBL Endurance Peak 4 different from the other colours?
No. The drivers, battery, microphones and IP rating are the same in every colour; only the finish changes, and the purple pairs violet hooks with teal tips.
Will the purple colour show sweat marks?
Yes, but less than black does. Salt marks are harder to see on a coloured matte finish, while scuffs can show, so wipe the hooks after training.
How long does the JBL Endurance Peak 4 battery last?
12 hours per charge with ANC off and 8 hours with ANC on. With the case, up to 48 hours in total, according to JBL.
Is the JBL Endurance Peak 4 waterproof?
Yes, the earbuds are rated IP68. The charging case is only IPX2, so keep it dry.
Does it have noise cancelling?
Yes. It uses Adaptive Noise Cancelling with four noise-sensing microphones, plus Smart Ambient to let outside sound in.
Can it connect to two devices at once?
Yes. It supports multipoint over Bluetooth 5.4.
Does the case charge wirelessly?
JBL does not list wireless charging for the JBL Endurance Peak 4 case, so we do not promise it.
