Installation with clips
Govee’s guide uses mounting clips rather than sticking the light directly to the TV. Wipe the back panel clean and dry, stick the positioning card to the back edge, then press each clip on for about 10 seconds. The clip side with the longer wall faces the inner area of the back panel, which Govee says improves the lighting. On curved back panels the corner clips may need to be flexed. Once all clips are on, remove the cards and press the rope into the clips, starting at the bottom-right clip as seen from the back and working anticlockwise. The result is a tidy install that can be removed without peeling tape off the rope itself.
Scenes, music modes and the Govee Home app
Govee lists 64+ scene modes for the Govee RGBIC Neon TV Backlight, from slow gradients to bright party effects, plus 11 music modes that make the light react to sound in the room. The Govee Home app adds a DIY mode for building your own effects, colour control by segment, and schedules, so the light can switch on with your evening routine and off at bedtime. Ambient light, not screen sync
