ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO for Large Windows and Glass Doors
Big windows are where a robot saves the most time, and they are also where cheaper robots struggle: wide spans need longer cables, steadier climbing and a spray that keeps up. The ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO answers with a 271 x 271 x 77.5mm body, a 6.7m power cable (5.5m DC plus 1.2m AC) and a 6m safety rope. The official manual says it performs best on square and large windows and may face challenges on panes larger than about 4m x 2.5m, where cable length becomes the limit.
It works on framed and frameless glass from 30 x 40cm upwards, with glass at least 3mm thick (mirrors at least 4mm). On frameless glass, an optocoupler edge sensor detects the drop-off and turns the robot back, and the robot can detect frames as low as 2mm.
Three-nozzle Wide-angle Spray and Seven Cleaning Modes
Instead of a single jet, the ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO uses ECOVACS’s Three-nozzle Wide-angle Spray Atomization (the spec table counts six nozzles in total). ECOVACS says water pressure is up 100% and spray time coverage up 80% compared with its earlier design. The spray reaches up to 30cm ahead of the robot, the 60ml (±5ml) tank covers about 40m² (±3m²) in Fast mode, and spray volume adapts automatically. You can also trigger a manual spray in the app.
There are seven modes: Fast, Deep, Thorough, Edge, Spot, Zone and Heavy-Duty. The Edge mode follows the frame line, and ECOVACS says it improves edge cleaning by 65%. The two microfiber wiping pads in the box measure 260 x 251mm and are washable.
WIN-SLAM 4.0 and the Climbing System
The ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO plans its route with WIN-SLAM 4.0 and a new brushless fan motor; ECOVACS quotes up to 30% higher cleaning efficiency from this combination. It measures the window, avoids low obstacles taller than 4mm and resumes from a breakpoint if interrupted, then returns to its start point when finished.
Climbing uses a water- and friction-resistant synchronous belt with external drive wheels that stay out of the wet zone, so the robot keeps grip while the pad is damp. While moving, suction runs at about 2,800Pa; the maximum is 5,300Pa (±500Pa).
Ten Layers of Protection on the ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO
ECOVACS groups the safety design into what it calls 10-tier protection. On the hardware side, the ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO uses automatic air-pressure compensation, strong suction, a floating cleaning-cloth plate and a backup battery. The robot runs on mains power while cleaning; if the power fails or the plug is pulled, the 3,000mAh lithium backup battery keeps it attached to the glass for up to 30 minutes.
On the software side, a gravity acceleration sensor watches the robot’s position, and the optocoupler edge sensor responds in about 0.2 seconds. The 6m safety rope and carabiner remain essential: the manual says the robot may clean outside windows only when properly tethered, with calm wind and no rain.
App Control and Everyday Use
The ECOVACS HOME app gives you mode selection, manual spray and an omnidirectional on-screen remote to steer the robot to a stubborn spot. The robot also has on-body buttons and voice prompts. ECOVACS lists the noise level at 63dB.
The ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO weighs 1.8kg (±0.1kg). The backup battery charges in about 3 hours according to the spec table (the manual says approx. 4 hours), and charging happens while the robot works from the mains.
Who This Is Not For
The ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO is not cordless: it needs a power socket within reach of the window and a cable during the whole job. It has no portable station; that is the separate W2 PRO OMNI. At 77.5mm thick and 271mm wide it will not slip behind security bars or very close window handles, and the minimum window is 30 x 40cm, so small bathroom windows are out. ECOVACS limits use and charging to 0-40°C and up to 85% humidity, which rules out sun-baked outside glass on many UAE summer afternoons. It is not designed for roofs, uneven or cracked glass, or windows with frames lower than 5mm.

Can the ECOVACS WINBOT W2 PRO clean without being plugged in?
