The Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine is Dyson’s V16 cordless stick vacuum in Matte Black and Copper, packed with two floor heads: the All Floor Cones Sense head for dry cleaning and the Submarine 2.0 wet roller head for washing hard floors. Vacuum the sand and crumbs first, then click on the wet head and wash tile, marble or sealed wood with clean water. Dyson rates suction at 315 AW in Boost mode and run time at up to 70 minutes in eco mode with a non-motorised tool.

Suction and battery
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine is driven by Dyson’s Hyperdymium 900W digital motor, which Dyson says is 50% more power dense than its predecessor. Suction is rated at 315 AW, measured at the inlet in Boost mode to IEC 62885-4, and Dynamic Cyclone technology adds five more cyclones when Boost is on. Run time is up to 70 minutes, but only in eco mode with a non-motorised tool; Boost and the motorised heads drain the battery much faster. A full charge takes 4.5 hours, and the battery clicks in and out, so a second pack, sold separately, can extend a session.

Washing floors with the Submarine 2.0 head
The Submarine 2.0 wet roller head has a motorised, high-density microfibre roller and a 300 ml clean water tank, which Dyson says covers up to 1,180 sq ft, about 110 m², of floor. Two modes are available: a wet cleaning mode for light spills and everyday marks, and a max hydration mode that adds more water for dried-on dirt and stubborn stains. On the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine the routine is simple: vacuum first to lift grit and sand, then swap to the wet head and wash the same floor. The head is meant for sealed hard floors only.

Anti-tangle Cones head for hair
For dry cleaning the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine uses the All Floor Cones Sense head, with two conical brush bars that push long hair off the ends and into the bin rather than wrapping it. Dyson claims it detangles hair up to 25 inches; its footnote says the test used hair up to 60 cm in Boost mode. In Auto mode the head adjusts suction and brush bar speed as you move between hard floors and carpets. The Hair Screw Tool 2.0 in the box handles sofas, mattresses and pet beds.

Bin, filtration and dust sensor
The CleanCompaktor bin holds 1.3 litres and compresses dust as you clean; Dyson says it holds up to 30 days of dust in its own hair-and-fibre test, and the bin wipes itself clean as it empties. Filtration is a five-stage sealed HEPA system that Dyson says captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, tested to ASTM F3150. A dust sensor counts particles up to 15,000 times a second, and the LCD screen shows what has been removed in real time, alongside battery level and the cleaning mode.

Size and what comes in the box
Dyson lists the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine at 3.4 kg, 259 mm high, 1,250 mm long and 250 mm wide. In the box you get the All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head, the Submarine wet roller head, the Hair Screw Tool 2.0, a Combi tool, a Crevice tool, a wall dock and a charger. Dyson has announced a self-emptying dock for the V16 range, but it is not included here.

Who This Is Not For
The Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine weighs 3.4 kg, which can feel heavy when cleaning above head height or for long sessions. The wet head is for sealed hard floors only, never carpets, rugs or unsealed wood. It does not vacuum and wash in one pass: you vacuum first, then wash. It is not a robot, and there is no self-emptying dock in the box. Dyson does not list the charger plug type on its product page, so you may need a certified adapter for UAE sockets.
