The ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 is a cordless robot that cleans a private swimming pool on its own. You drop it in, it works through the floor, walls and waterline on battery power with no floating cable to tangle, and you lift it out with the supplied hook when it is done. ECOVACS rates it at 4800GPH of suction, up to 3 hours of cleaning in Eco mode and up to 180 m² of pool floor per charge. It marks ECOVACS’s move into pool care, from the company behind the DEEBOT floor robots.

What the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 Cleans
ECOVACS lists floors, walls, platforms and slopes as the surfaces the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 covers, and the manual describes three cleaning modes. Floor Mode cleans the pool floor only. Wall Mode sends the four roller brushes up the walls and along the waterline, where sunscreen and body oils leave a greasy ring. All Mode combines the two: floor, gentle slopes, walls and waterline in one run. Each mode has three efficiency levels, and you can set one-time or repeating schedules in the ECOVACS HOME app.
ECOVACS says the robot works on pool finishes from fibreglass to pebble-stone and adapts to various pool shapes. It crosses ledges up to 5.5cm, and a rubber climbing ring is supplied in the box. ECOVACS does not publish a list of supported pool types such as inground or above-ground, and it does not say how the robot handles full staircases or beach entries, so those areas may still need a brush now and then.
4800GPH Suction and a 3-Micron Dual Filter
Suction on the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 is rated at 4800 gallons per hour, which ECOVACS says gives up to 99% pickup efficiency. Water passes through a dual-layer filter: a 180-micron outer mesh catches leaves, twigs and insects, and a 3-micron inner filter traps the fine sand, dust and pollen that blows into outdoor pools in the UAE. ECOVACS says it captures more than 10 types of debris.
Fine desert dust is the main job for a pool robot here, and a 3-micron inner layer is what stops it passing straight back into the water. ECOVACS describes the filter basket as easy to clean but does not publish its capacity, so after a dusty shamal day, empty it after every run.
SmartNavi Path Planning
The ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 uses what ECOVACS calls SmartNavi, a navigation system built around an IMU (inertial) sensor that plans systematic routes instead of bouncing at random. ECOVACS claims up to 99% floor coverage with fewer repeated passes.
The app connects over Bluetooth, and only while the robot is out of the water: the manual notes that the connection drops once it is submerged. In practice you choose the mode and level on the pool deck, start the run, and check the result afterwards. There is no live tracking from the sofa while it cleans.
Runtime, Charging and Battery
ECOVACS quotes up to 3 hours of continuous cleaning in Eco mode for the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1. It does not publish runtimes for the other levels, so expect shorter runs on the stronger settings. Floor coverage per charge is up to 180 m² (about 1937 sq ft), and a full charge takes about 4 hours, according to the manual.
The battery is listed at 5200mAh on the ECOVACS global page and in the manual’s battery model number, while the ECOVACS US product page lists 4600mAh. The robot charges from an adapter whose plug type varies by country; ECOVACS does not publish the adapter’s input voltage on its product pages.
Built for Chlorinated Water
The body of the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 is sealed to IP68 with multi-layer O-rings, and ECOVACS uses a marine-grade shell with 316 stainless steel and titanium alloy cores as part of what it calls a 10-tier durability system. The manual sets clear water limits: chlorine up to 4 ppm, pH 7.0 to 7.8, water depth 0.5 to 3 m, and water temperature 6 to 35°C.
That last figure matters in the UAE. Outdoor pools can climb past 35°C in July and August, especially shallow or unshaded ones, so during peak summer run the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 early in the morning, when the water is at its coolest, or check the temperature first.
Who This Is Not For
Owners of heated or very warm pools: the manual limits use to water between 6 and 35°C, which rules out spas and some unshaded pools in mid-summer.
Anyone who wants to control it from the house during a run: the app works over Bluetooth only while the robot is out of the water.
Pools deeper than 3 m or shallower than 0.5 m: both are outside ECOVACS’s stated operating depth.
Large public pools: the ECOVACS Ultramarine P1 is rated for up to 180 m² of pool floor per charge.
Buyers who need a published adapter voltage or basket capacity before buying: ECOVACS does not list either.
