The Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Absolute is Dyson’s cordless stick vacuum that also washes hard floors. It comes with the Submarine wet roller head for wet cleaning, alongside dry cleaning heads for carpets and hard floors. Dyson lists 240AW of suction in Boost mode, up to 60 minutes of run time, whole-machine HEPA filtration and an LCD screen that counts dust particles as you clean.

Suction and run time

Dyson rates the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine at 240AW of suction in Boost mode, and up to 60 minutes of maximum run time. Boost mode drains the battery much faster than the lowest power setting, so the 60 minutes applies to lighter modes, not Boost. Charging takes 4.5 hours.

The battery is a seven-cell lithium-ion pack with a click-in design, so it can be swapped for a second battery sold separately.

The Submarine wet roller head

The Submarine head uses a motorised microfibre roller to wash hard floors. It is a separate head for wet cleaning: for dry vacuuming you switch to the dry cleaner heads. The old listing said it vacuums and mops in a single pass; that is not how Dyson describes it, so we removed the claim.

Dust detection and filtration

A piezo sensor counts particles up to 15,000 times per second and shows them on the LCD screen, with a run-time countdown. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head lights up fine dust on hard floors.

Dyson lists whole-machine HEPA filtration that captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns.

Size and weight

The Dyson V15s Detect Submarine weighs 3.1kg and measures 1,260mm tall, 260mm long and 250mm wide as a stick vacuum. The bin holds 0.77L. It converts to a handheld vacuum for stairs, sofas and cars.
