The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition is Microsoft’s own Xbox Wireless Controller in a special design made for the launch of Forza Horizon 6. Xbox calls it one of the most vibrant controllers it has ever released: a transparent cyan blue top case that eases into a metallic gradient, with volt green, hot pink and silver accents. Underneath the design it works like the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, connecting to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, Windows PCs, and Android and iOS devices.

The Design Behind the Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6
Xbox Wire explains that the design comes from the Touge roads of Japan: the winding, narrow mountain roads known as the birthplace of drifting. Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan, and the controller’s pattern is a top-down view of those routes, running across the shell.
The details carry the theme through. Xbox lists a silver metallic D-pad, two-tone rubberised diamond-pattern grips in black and pink, bold pink thumbsticks, multi-colour ABXY buttons and a Horizon logo stamped on the battery door. On its accessories page, Xbox also describes the translucent top case and triggers as revealing dynamic lighting effects around a vibrant pink and green Xbox button.
Buttons, Grips and Controls
The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 is built on the current Xbox Wireless Controller, which Xbox describes with a hybrid D-pad, textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and back case, and a Share button for capturing screenshots and recordings. For racing games, the textured triggers give a surer feel on throttle and brake, and the diamond-pattern grips help during long sessions.
On the Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 you can remap buttons and create custom controller profiles through the Xbox Accessories app, according to Xbox. That is useful if you prefer, for example, to move the handbrake to a bumper in Forza Horizon 6 or to set up a different layout for another game.
Console, PC and Mobile Compatibility
The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition connects directly to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One consoles through Xbox Wireless, with no dongle or base station needed. It pairs over Bluetooth with Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs, tablets, and Android and iOS devices, and Xbox says you can pair and switch between devices.
The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 also suits Xbox Cloud Gaming on a phone, tablet or PC, where supported. Note that Forza Horizon 6 itself is an Xbox Series X|S and PC game, but the controller works with Xbox One consoles and games too.
Battery Life and the 3.5mm Headset Jack
The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 runs on AA batteries, with up to 40 hours of battery life according to Xbox. Microsoft adds that battery life varies significantly with distance from the console, additional accessories, usage and other factors, so a headset plugged into the controller will shorten it.
The 3.5mm jack at the bottom takes any compatible wired headset, so you can hear engines and chat without a separate wireless headset. If you want the matching headset, we also sell the Xbox Forza Horizon 6 Headset Limited Edition, built on the Xbox Wireless Headset in the same colours.
Controller Alone or With the Game
The Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6 is sold here on its own. If you also need the game, the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle puts this same limited edition controller together with the Standard Edition game on disc for Xbox Series X. The game is also sold separately as Forza Horizon 6 Standard Edition for Xbox Series X.
Xbox Wire does not mention any in-game content, code or digital item with the Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6, so do not expect a download code in the box. Microsoft Store listed it for pre-order from 20 April 2026, with orders shipping on or after 19 May 2026, the game’s launch date.
Who This Is Not For
Anyone who wants a built-in rechargeable battery: Xbox specifies AA batteries for the Xbox Wireless Controller Forza Horizon 6, so you either keep spare batteries or buy a rechargeable battery kit separately. If you mainly play on PlayStation or Nintendo Switch, this is an Xbox controller and Xbox does not list those consoles as supported.
Players looking for extra hardware such as rear paddles, adjustable-tension thumbsticks or trigger stops should know that Xbox does not list any of these for this edition; the Forza Horizon 6 design is the difference, not new controls. Mac users should also note that Xbox’s compatibility list names Windows 10/11, Android and iOS, not macOS.
