The Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle puts two things together: Forza Horizon 6 Standard Edition as a boxed physical copy for Xbox Series X, and the Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller that Microsoft designed for the game’s launch. Forza Horizon 6 is Playground Games’ open-world racer set in Japan, released on Xbox Series X|S and PC on 19 May 2026. Read the compatibility notes below before buying, because this game does not exist for Xbox One.

What is in the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle
The box image shows both parts of the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle: the retail Standard Edition game case for Xbox Series X, and the Limited Edition controller. The Standard Edition is the base game without the extra cars, expansions or four-day early access that Playground Games reserved for the Premium Edition.
Because the game in the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle is a boxed Xbox Series X copy, it is meant for a console with a disc drive. Xbox Series S and the digital-only Xbox Series X have no drive; if that is your console, buy the game digitally and consider the controller on its own instead.
Forza Horizon 6: Japan, 550+ cars, 4K modes
Playground Games sets Forza Horizon 6 in Japan, with Tokyo at its centre, rural areas, mountain passes and seasonal changes, and says Tokyo alone is five times larger than Guanajuato in Forza Horizon 5. More than 550 real-world cars are available at launch.
On Xbox Series X the Forza FAQ lists two display modes: Quality at native 4K and 30 fps, and Performance with dynamic 4K scaling at 60 fps. The game released on 19 May 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 version announced for later in 2026.
Online modes and player counts
Forza Horizon 6 is a solo campaign with shared online spaces. The Forza FAQ lists The Eliminator as a 72-player battle royale, Drag Meets for up to 12 players and Horizon CoLab building for up to 12 players, alongside car meets, Touge Battles and Horizon Time Attack circuits. Cross-play and cross-save work between PC and console.
The FAQ does not state which Xbox membership tier online play needs on console, so check your own subscription before relying on the online modes.
The Forza Horizon 6 Limited Edition controller
Microsoft describes the controller in the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle as a transparent cyan blue top case easing into a metallic gradient, with volt green, hot pink and silver accents, a silver metallic D-pad and two-tone rubberised diamond grips. The design draws on the touge mountain roads of Japan.
It is a standard Xbox Wireless Controller underneath: Xbox Wireless for the console, Bluetooth for Windows 10/11 PCs, Android and iOS, a 3.5 mm jack for a wired headset, and AA batteries rated for up to 40 hours. Microsoft lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, mobile and cloud devices.
Who this is not for
Xbox One owners should not buy the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle for the game: there is no Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 6. The controller works on Xbox One, but the disc will not.
Owners of Xbox Series S or a digital-only Series X have no disc drive to play the boxed copy in the Forza Horizon 6 Controller Bundle. PlayStation 5 players should wait for the PS5 release. And if you already have Game Pass Ultimate, where Forza Horizon 6 was available from day one, you may only need the Limited Edition controller on its own.
Also note the controller runs on AA batteries; there is no built-in rechargeable battery listed by Microsoft.
