The Xiaomi C100 is the entry point to Xiaomi’s indoor camera range, and it earns its place by getting the basics right rather than by listing features it half-delivers. A 3MP sensor gives you 2304 x 1296 footage through a 128 degree lens, there is a real sliding cover over the lens, and the whole thing runs on Wi-Fi 6. We stock the Xiaomi C100 in the UAE with a one-year Totot warranty on every unit.

What the Xiaomi C100 is, and what it is not
This is a fixed camera. It does not pan and it does not tilt, and Xiaomi does not claim that it does. What you get instead is a 128 degree wide angle that covers most of a normal room from one corner, with no motor to wear out and no whirring at night.
That is a real trade-off rather than a compromise. A fixed lens sees everything in its cone all the time, so nothing happens behind the camera’s back while the motor catches up. The limit is the cone itself: point the Xiaomi C100 at a doorway and the far corner of an L-shaped room simply is not in frame, and no software setting will put it there.
If you want the camera to follow a toddler or a dog around a large room, the motorised C701 is the model for that job and this one is not. If you want a reliable, quiet, cheap pair of eyes on one specific area, this is the better buy of the two.
2K image quality and the 128 degree view on the Xiaomi C100
Xiaomi publishes the Xiaomi C100 at 2304 x 1296 from a 3MP sensor, which the company describes as 2K HD. That is roughly 40 percent more pixels than 1080p, which is enough to make a face recognisable across a living room where 1080p would leave you guessing.
The 128 degree field of view is wide, and wide lenses always bend the edges of the frame a little. Objects at the extreme left and right look further away than they are. This is normal for the category and not a defect, but it means you should judge distances from the centre of the image rather than the corners when you are deciding where to mount it.
Do not expect number plates or text through a window. 2K at 128 degrees spreads those pixels across a wide scene, so fine detail at distance is not what this camera is for. It is for knowing who is in the room and what they are doing.
Xiaomi C100 night vision in colour, and when it is not
The Xiaomi C100 has two night modes. The infrared mode uses 940nm emitters, which are invisible to the human eye, so there is no red glow giving the camera away in a dark room. Xiaomi also publishes an ultra-low-light full-colour mode, which keeps colour in the image when there is a small amount of ambient light to work with.
The word to read carefully there is ambient. Full-colour night vision is not magic; it needs something to work with, such as a street lamp through a curtain or a hallway light left on. In a sealed room with the lights off, the camera falls back to infrared and you get a black-and-white image. Any brand that implies otherwise is overselling.
Infrared through glass does not work, on this or any other camera. The light reflects off the pane and washes the picture out. If you want to watch a balcony through a closed window at night, you need a camera on the other side of the glass.
Detection, audio and the Xiaomi C100 privacy cover
Xiaomi lists AI human detection, real-time alerts when a baby cries, and loud noise detection. The human detection is the one that matters day to day, because it is what stops a curtain moving in the air conditioning from filling your phone with alerts.
Sound-based alerts need tuning. Out of the box, loud noise detection will trigger on a slammed door, a vacuum cleaner and a loud television, and you will want to spend an evening adjusting sensitivity rather than five minutes. That is true of every camera with this feature and it is worth knowing before the first night.
Two-way audio runs through what Xiaomi calls a 3A algorithm for call quality, so you can speak to whoever is in the room rather than just listen.
The privacy cover is the quiet reason to pick this model. It is a physical shield you slide down from the top of the camera, which masks the lens and stops recording. Not a software toggle, not a setting in an app: a piece of plastic in front of the glass. If you are putting a camera in a bedroom or a living room, that mechanical certainty is worth more than any encryption claim.
Wi-Fi 6, storage and running costs on the Xiaomi C100
Xiaomi fits a Wi-Fi 6 transmission chip and quotes a data rate of 80Mbps. Read the band carefully: the standard listed is 802.11 b/g/n/ax on 2.4 GHz, so this is Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4 GHz band only. There is no 5 GHz here. In practice that is the right choice for a camera, because 2.4 GHz travels through walls far better, but it does mean the camera shares a crowded band with everything else in the building.
Recordings go to a microSD card between 8GB and 256GB, to a NAS drive on your own network, or to Xiaomi cloud storage. The card is not supplied in the box. A card rated for continuous video or endurance use will last considerably longer than a standard one, because a security camera writes to it around the clock.
NAS is the option most people overlook. If you already own a network drive, it gives you long retention with no subscription and keeps the footage inside your home. Cloud storage is a separate Xiaomi service on Xiaomi’s own terms; we do not resell it and it is not part of the price here.
Who the Xiaomi C100 is not for
Not for outdoors. Xiaomi rates it from -10C to 45C and publishes no IP weather rating, so a balcony, a garage or a carport in a UAE summer is the wrong place for it. The Xiaomi outdoor and solar ranges exist for that.
Not for anyone who needs the camera to follow movement. It is fixed, by design. The C701 pans and tilts; this one does not.
Not for 5 GHz-only networks. If your router broadcasts 5 GHz only, or your 2.4 GHz band is disabled, this camera cannot connect at all. Check that before ordering.
Not for battery or wireless placement. It draws 5V 1A from the mains, so every mounting spot has to reach a socket.
And not for anyone hoping to read detail at distance. At 128 degrees and 2K, it identifies people and activity well and fine print poorly.
Buying the Xiaomi C100 in the UAE
We ship across the Emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman, from stock held locally rather than ordered in after you buy, so delivery is measured in days. Units are genuine retail items in Xiaomi packaging.
Warranty is one year from Totot against manufacturing defects. The Xiaomi C100 product title carries no TDRA registration, so no separate agent warranty applies to it, and we would rather state that plainly than let you assume coverage that is not there. Our 14-day return policy covers defective or non-conforming items.

FAQ
Does the Xiaomi C100 rotate or follow movement?
No. It is a fixed camera with a 128 degree wide angle and no motor. If you need the camera to pan and follow a person or a pet, the Xiaomi C701 does that and this model does not.
Is the Xiaomi C100 really 2K?
Yes, at 2304 x 1296 from a 3MP sensor, which is what Xiaomi publishes and what the company calls 2K HD. That is about 40 percent more pixels than 1080p.
Does it work on 5 GHz Wi-Fi?
No. Xiaomi lists 802.11 b/g/n/ax on 2.4 GHz only. It is a Wi-Fi 6 camera, but on the 2.4 GHz band, so your router must have 2.4 GHz enabled.
Does it have a physical privacy cover?
Yes. There is an active physical lens shield you slide down from the top of the camera, which masks the lens and stops recording. It is mechanical, not a software setting.
Is a microSD card included?
No. Xiaomi lists the box as the camera, a charging cable, a wall mounting kit, a mounting sticker and the user manual. The camera accepts cards from 8 GB to 256 GB.
Can it record without a memory card?
Yes. It can record to a NAS drive on your network or to Xiaomi cloud storage, and the live view and alerts work with no card at all.
Does the night vision show colour?
Sometimes. Xiaomi publishes an ultra-low-light full-colour mode that keeps colour when there is some ambient light. In complete darkness it switches to 940nm infrared and the image is black and white.
Can I use it outside?
No. Xiaomi rates it -10 C to 45 C and publishes no IP weather rating, so it is indoor only.
How much does it weigh and how big is it?
Around 170 grams, measuring 69 x 68 x 115 mm, so it sits comfortably on a shelf or a side table.
