The DJI Mic Mini 2 is DJI’s small wireless lavalier system, and this is the two-person kit: two transmitters, one DJI Mic Mini receiver and a charging case that stores and recharges all three. Each transmitter weighs about 11 g without its magnetic clip, small enough to disappear on a T-shirt. DJI added three voice tone presets, two levels of noise cancelling and an automatic limiter against clipping, and quotes up to 400 m of range in open, interference-free conditions. Two transmitters for interviews and duo content
With two transmitters and one receiver, the DJI Mic Mini 2 records two people at once, for interviews, podcasts filmed on a phone, couple vlogs or a teacher and student. The transmitters are omnidirectional, so placement on the collar is forgiving. DJI lists a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz with the low cut off (100 Hz to 20 kHz with it on), a maximum sound pressure level of 120 dB SPL and 24 dBA equivalent noise. The receiver has a dial for five-level gain control and supports a safety track, a second lower-level recording that saves the take if someone suddenly laughs or shouts.
Noise cancelling, voice presets and auto limiting
DJI built in two levels of noise cancelling. Basic is meant for quiet indoor spaces and lowers hum while keeping the voice natural; Strong is for noisy places such as malls, streets or events and cuts background sound much harder. Three voice tone presets shape the sound: Normal for balanced everyday recording, Rich for deeper bass, and Bright for extra clarity when streaming or teaching. With auto limiting on, the DJI Mic Mini 2 turns the level down automatically when the input gets too loud, which prevents distorted clipping when the speaker raises their voice.
Battery life and the charging case
DJI rates each transmitter at about 11.5 hours and the receiver at about 10.5 hours. Those figures were measured with noise cancelling off, at short range without interference, and with the receiver connected to a camera over the 3.5 mm cable, so real use with noise cancelling on will be shorter. The charging case holds a 1950 mAh battery and, according to DJI, can fully recharge two transmitters and one receiver about 3.6 times, which is where the 48-hour total comes from. A transmitter recharges in about 70 minutes, the receiver in about 100 minutes and the case in about 2 hours.
Cameras, phones and DJI OsmoAudio
The DJI Mic Mini receiver connects to cameras through the included 3.5 mm TRS cable, to USB-C phones and tablets through the USB-C phone adapter, and to computers. Phones with a Lightning port need a Lightning adapter, which is not included. DJI also says the transmitters can link to phones over Bluetooth, and that through the OsmoAudio ecosystem they connect directly, with no receiver, to the Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano and Osmo Action 6. Size, covers and what is in the box
Each transmitter measures 28.58 × 28.04 × 13.52 mm and the receiver weighs about 17.8 g. Magnetic front covers let you change the look: the kit includes two obsidian black covers, two glacier white covers and one multicolour cover. In the box you get two DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitters, one DJI Mic Mini receiver, the DJI Mic Mini 2 charging case, two windscreens, two magnetic clips, two magnets, a carrying pouch, the USB-C phone adapter, a 3.5 mm TRS camera audio cable and a DJI Mic splitter charging cable. Who This Is Not For
The DJI Mic Mini 2 does not record internally, so if the wireless link drops there is no backup on the transmitter; the DJI Mic 3 offers internal recording. It has no timecode, which matters for multi-camera productions. iPhones with a Lightning port need an adapter that is not in the box. The 11.5-hour transmitter figure is measured with noise cancelling off, and the 400 m range applies only in open, unobstructed space without interference.
