The Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite puts camera-matched colour behind a big screen. This is the kit for 75 to 85 inch TVs. A single camera above the TV reads the picture, and an RGBICW strip on the back repeats the colours on the wall. Govee lists the model as H6099 and highlights two upgrades over its earlier kits: a camera with fish-eye correction and 4-in-1 beads that add a warm white chip to the usual RGB.

Why the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite Suits Big Screens
On a 75 to 85 inch TV the camera has to take in a very wide picture from close range, and that is where lens distortion shows most. The edges bow outward in the camera’s view, so the colour sampled for the far corners can come from the wrong part of the image. Govee’s fix on the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite is an upgraded fish-eye correction camera that corrects the distortion and, in Govee’s words, expands the effective colour-matching range for more accurate edges.
In its launch announcement Govee also described an upgraded chip with a 20% increase in computational power over the previous generation, and the product page lists a 15% to 20% faster new chip. The practical point is that the lighting has to keep pace with fast scene changes in sport and games, not just slow drama.
RGBICW: Colour Segments Plus Real Warm White
The Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite uses what Govee calls 4-in-1 lamp beads with RGBIC+W. Each bead has red, green and blue plus an extra warm white chip, and the strip is segmented (the IC part) so different parts of it can show different colours at once. Govee lists the density as 30 LEDs per metre.
The warm white chip is what makes this kit useful when nothing colourful is on screen. Mixed RGB white often looks bluish on a wall; a dedicated warm white gives the soft bias light many people want for evening TV or when the room should stay calm. Govee says the extra chip was added to improve lighting for movie nights and gaming.
Installation on Large and Ultra-Thin TVs
Govee lists support for TVs from 4 mm to 35 mm thick, and says ultra-thin TVs are handled by a gravitational hanging design, with adhesive to keep the camera stable. The camera mounts at the top centre of the screen, and the strip runs around the back edge of the TV.
Govee is clear that the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite is not compatible with curved TVs. That matters most in the 75 to 85 inch class, where some older premium sets are curved, so check your TV before ordering. Control goes through the Govee Home app, the inline control box or voice.
Smart Features: Blank Screen Detection, DreamView and Voice
Blank screen detection switches the lights off automatically when the camera sees a blank or static screen, so the kit does not keep lighting the wall after the TV sleeps. DreamView lets the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite sync with up to seven Govee sub-devices, so light bars, floor lamps or a strip elsewhere in the room follow the same picture.
The kit connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth. Govee states that 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported, so if your router combines both bands under one name you may need to enable a separate 2.4GHz network during setup. Voice control is listed for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Compared with Other Govee TV Kits
For a 55 to 65 inch TV we carry the Govee TV Backlight 3S (H6098), whose Govee feature list matches this kit on fish-eye correction, RGBIC+W beads, blank screen detection and DreamView, with Netflix packaging and Netflix-themed effects added. For the same 75 to 85 inch size class, the Govee Envisual TV Backlight T2 (H605C) uses two cameras, and the Govee Immersion (H6199) is Govee’s earlier single-camera option.
If you want extra light bars beside the TV and your screen is 55 to 65 inches, the Govee DreamView T1 Pro (H605B) is the kit that includes them.
Who This Is Not For
Owners of curved TVs: Govee states plainly that the Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite does not support them. The same goes for TVs thinner than 4 mm or thicker than 35 mm, which fall outside Govee’s listed range.
Homes with a 5GHz-only network: the kit needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. And if your TV is 65 inches or smaller, this 75 to 85 inch kit is oversized; choose a kit made for your screen size.
Govee’s product page lists a 3.6 m strip in four sections, 12 V and 24 W in its spec table, but that table is the one shown for the 55 to 65 inch kit and Govee does not list the strip length or wattage separately for the 75 to 85 inch kit. We therefore do not quote a strip length for this version.
