The covers carry the hand-drawn icons Atsu marks on her map, brushstrokes taken from her Sumi-e paintings, and a kintsugi-style effect lifted from her Ghost mask — the Japanese craft of repairing broken pottery with gold rather than concealing the break. Mount Yotei sits at the centre of the composition holding it together.

On the Ghost of Yotei, playStation 5 covers are designed to be swapped by hand with no tools. You lay the console flat, lift the existing panel away from the corner, slide it off, then align the new panel and press until it clicks. Nothing needs to be unscrewed and no warranty seal is involved — Sony built the console for this from the start.

Covers or the Full Bundle?
On the Ghost of Yotei, sony sold two things at launch: the covers on their own, and complete console bundles with a matching controller and a digital copy of the game. If you already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro, the covers are the sensible route — you get the same panels that ship on the limited edition console for a fraction of the outlay, and you keep the console you already have.
On the Ghost of Yotei, worth knowing: only the gold design was sold separately as covers. The black variant was bundle-only and never released as a standalone accessory, which is why gold is the version you will find on shelves.
