20XX 30XX is the physical Nintendo Switch release that puts both of Batterystaple Games’ action-platformer roguelikes on one game card. Fangamer, which publishes the physical edition, describes it as the ultimate co-op action-platformer roguelike collection: you jump, shoot and slash through levels that change every run, alone or with a second player. The cover shows both logos and a PEGI 7 rating.

20XX 30XX: Two Games, One Game Card
This is a genuine physical release, not a download code. Fangamer announced the 20XX/30XX physical edition for Nintendo Switch and lists both 20XX and 30XX on a single game card. You insert one cartridge and choose which game to start.
Both games come from Batterystaple Games. 20XX arrived on Switch as a download in 2018, and 30XX, the follow-up, in 2023. Nintendo describes both with the same line: classic action-platforming with fluid movement, endless replayability and full co-op. The 20XX 30XX card is the first time they have been sold together on a cartridge.
How a Run Works
Both games borrow the feel of classic action platformers: Fangamer sums them up as jump, shoot and slash, with crisp controls and fluid movement, and boss fights along the way. The roguelike part is that levels change from run to run and power-ups are found as you go, so no two runs play out the same.
When you fall, the run ends and you start again with what you have learned. In both halves of 20XX 30XX that loop is the point: each attempt is short, and the variety of power-ups, which the games call augments, changes how each run plays.
Two Players on One Switch or Online
Co-op is central to both games. Nintendo lists 20XX for 1 to 2 players on a single system, 2 players by local wireless and 2 players online. 30XX is listed for 1 to 2 players on a single system, 2 by local wireless and 1 to 2 online. In practice, two people can share one console and play the whole run together.
Online co-op and cloud saves require a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Playing on one console with two controllers does not need it, which makes 20XX 30XX easy to share at home.
20XX or 30XX: Where to Start
20XX is the older and simpler of the two, a good place to learn the rhythm of jumping, shooting and picking augments. 30XX is the newer game, and Batterystaple built it on the same foundation. Having both on one card means you can start with either and switch whenever you like.
Because both games share the same co-op and roguelike structure, the 20XX 30XX card works well for a pair of players who want a quick session: a run fits into a short break, and losing costs only a few minutes.
What Else Comes in the Box
For its physical edition Fangamer lists more than the game card: a double-sided 14-page instruction booklet with character bios and boss information, a code for the digital soundtrack, two sticker sheets, a 9 x 12 inch double-sided poster listing the in-game augments, and a reversible cover.
The box we stock carries the PEGI 7 rating rather than the ESRB label shown on Fangamer’s own listing. If any of those printed extras matter to you, contact us before ordering and we will confirm exactly what is inside this print.
Languages, Rating and Play Modes
Nintendo lists Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese as supported languages for both games. Arabic is not supported. The cover carries a PEGI 7 rating, and Fangamer lists ESRB E10+ for fantasy violence and mild language.
Both games run on Nintendo Switch in TV, tabletop and handheld mode, so 20XX 30XX also suits short handheld sessions when you are away from the TV.
Who This Is Not For
Roguelikes are built on repetition, and runs end quickly when you make mistakes. If you prefer a story-driven platformer with hand-built levels that stay the same and saved progress through a campaign, 20XX 30XX will feel punishing rather than fun.
The games have no Arabic, and online co-op needs a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership. Players who already own both games digitally gain only the physical card and extras from this box.
