The Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray is the 8GB RAM and 256GB Wi-Fi edition of Xiaomi’s 2026 mid-range tablet, finished in the dark Gray that Xiaomi lists alongside Blue and Pine Green. It keeps the 11.2-inch 3.2K, 144Hz screen that made the Pad 7 popular, but moves to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a slimmer 5.75 mm metal body, a larger 9200mAh (typ) battery and Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which can work as a wireless second screen for a MacBook. Totot has the Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray in stock in the UAE, new and sealed.

What the Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray changes over the Pad 7
Xiaomi compares the Pad 8 directly with the Pad 7 and quotes up to 32% higher CPU performance (Geekbench 6 multi-core), up to 67% higher GPU performance (1440p Aztec Ruins, Vulkan) and a 36% higher AnTuTu V11 score, all from Xiaomi’s internal labs. The chip is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 on a 4nm process, with one Cortex-X4 core at 3.2GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.0GHz, two at 2.8GHz and two at 2.0GHz, plus Adreno 825 graphics.
This 256GB model pairs 8GB of LPDDR5X memory with UFS 4.1 storage; Xiaomi notes that the 128GB model uses slower UFS 3.1, which is one reason to choose 256GB. The body also got thinner: 5.75 mm (lens bump excluded) and 485 g, against 6.18 mm and 500 g for the Pad 7.

Gaming and performance on the Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray
With a Snapdragon 8 series chip, demanding games are the obvious use. Xiaomi says large titles run at native resolution and frame rate, while noting that its marketing visuals are AI-generated and may differ from the real interface. The 144Hz adaptive display samples touch at up to 360Hz, which helps fast aiming, and the four speakers support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. Xiaomi’s 200% volume boost claim means 16 volume steps instead of 15.
For video, the 3200 x 2136 panel (345 ppi, 3:2) supports Dolby Vision and Netflix HDR10, shows 12-bit colour across DCI-P3 and reaches 800 nits at peak per Xiaomi lab data. TÜV Rheinland certifies it for low blue light (hardware solution), flicker-free and circadian-friendly viewing.
HyperOS 3, AI and working with a Mac
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 extends Workstation mode with more Dock apps and adds new split-screen layouts, including a 1:9 quick-switch ratio and vertical split. A PC-level browser with more than 40 keyboard shortcuts was due by OTA at the end of February 2026 in certain regions, and WPS Office PC at the end of March 2026 (input in English and Chinese only).
The interesting part for Apple users is cross-ecosystem support: with the Xiaomi Interconnectivity app on the Apple device and the tablet signed in on HyperOS 3, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray can act as a wireless external display for a MacBook and transfer files with Apple devices. Xiaomi HyperAI adds AI Writing, AI Art, AI Translate Conversation and AI Calculator, available in select regions and languages and with an internet connection.

Battery and charging
The battery is 9200mAh typical (9000mAh rated). Xiaomi’s internal tests give up to 17.78 hours of continuous video streaming and 13.25 hours of continuous online meetings, and the company adds that real results vary. Charging is 45W turbo charging over USB-C; Xiaomi says the 45W adapter is sold separately and does not publish a time-to-full figure for the Pad 8.
Pen and keyboard for the Xiaomi Pad 8 Gray
The Pad 8 works with the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro, a 17.5 g buttonless stylus with gentle-pinch shortcuts, double-press, slide gestures for brush size, rotation, hover preview and haptic feedback; the screen samples pen input at 240Hz. Xiaomi also sells the Xiaomi Pad 8 / 8 Pro Keyboard. Both are sold separately, and the Focus Pen Pro is also compatible with the Pad 7 series.

Who This Is Not For
Security is face unlock only: Xiaomi lists AI face unlock for the Pad 8 but no fingerprint sensor, which the Pad 8 Pro has. Xiaomi says the 45W adapter is sold separately, so you may need a charger. It is Wi-Fi only with no SIM slot, and Xiaomi notes that Wi-Fi 7 support depends on region and network. If you want 67W charging, a 50MP rear camera or the top Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Pad 8 Pro is the better fit. Owners of a Pad 7 mainly gain speed, thinness and battery here, because the screen size, resolution and peak brightness are unchanged.
