The Marshall Woburn III Brown is the biggest speaker in the Marshall home range, wrapped in a dark brown vinyl with a cream script logo and a brass-coloured top plate. Inside, Marshall uses five Class D amplifiers: one 90W unit for the woofer, two 15W units for the mids and two 15W units for the tweeters. It is the only Marshall home speaker with an HDMI input, so it can sit under a TV and replace the built-in speakers. Why choose the brown finish
Brown is the quietest of the three Woburn III colours. The textured vinyl hides fingerprints and light dust better than cream does, and small scuffs are harder to spot than on black. Five amplifiers and a three-way design
Marshall does not publish a single total wattage for the Marshall Woburn III Brown. Instead it lists each amplifier: 1 x 90W Class D for the woofer, 2 x 15W for the mids and 2 x 15W for the tweeters. Adding them gives 150W of amplifier power, but this is not an RMS rating at a stated distortion, so it should not be compared with peak figures from party speakers. The top panel of the Marshall Woburn III Brown carries a source button, volume, bass and treble knobs, play and pause, a skip control and a power switch. You can shape the sound by hand without a phone. The Marshall Bluetooth app for iOS and Android adds Placement Correction, Night Mode, extra sound settings and over-the-air updates, and Marshall promises software support for at least two years from the date the product was last sold. The speaker has no Wi-Fi, no microphone and no voice assistant, and Marshall says it cannot be paired or grouped with other units.

The Marshall Woburn III Brown runs from the mains at 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz, which covers the 220-240 V supply in the UAE, and a mains lead is in the box. Who This Is Not For
The Marshall Woburn III Brown is not portable: it has no battery, no handle and no published IP rating, so it is not for the garden, the pool or the beach. It is not a smart or multi-room speaker; there is no Wi-Fi, AirPlay, Chromecast or voice assistant, and two units cannot be paired. Stereo width is limited to one 40 cm cabinet.
