The Marshall Stanmore 3, which Marshall names Stanmore III, is the middle size of Marshall’s home speaker range: bigger than the Acton III, smaller than the Woburn III. It is a mains-powered stereo Bluetooth speaker with a wired RCA input for a turntable or TV and a 3.5 mm input for everything else. This page covers the Black finish, the most classic Marshall look, with the gold script logo and brass-coloured knobs on the top panel.

Marshall Stanmore 3 Power: How the Amplifiers Add Up
Marshall does not publish one system wattage for this speaker. It lists the amplifiers per driver: one 50W Class D amplifier for the woofer and two 15W Class D amplifiers for the two tweeters. Added together that is 80W of amplifier ratings, but that sum is not a continuous RMS output figure for the whole speaker, and Marshall does not state the test conditions behind each rating.
The figures Marshall does give for loudness and range are a maximum sound pressure level of 97 dB at 1 metre and a frequency range of 45 Hz to 20 kHz. The cabinet is bass-reflex and the driver layout is two-way stereo. Marshall does not publish the driver diameters for the Marshall Stanmore 3.
Stanmore, Acton or Woburn: Different Sizes, Not Colours
The three Marshall home speakers are separate products of different sizes. The Marshall Stanmore 3 measures 350 x 203 x 188 mm and weighs 4.25 kg. The smaller Marshall Acton 3 has a 30W woofer amplifier and suits a bedroom or desk; the larger Woburn III is built for bigger living rooms. The Stanmore sits between them and is the usual choice for a living room or a medium-sized open-plan space.
Marshall describes the Stanmore III as having a re-engineered, wider stereo soundstage compared with the previous generation, which is why placement on a sideboard with some space either side works better than tucking it into a narrow shelf.
Inputs: Bluetooth 5.2, RCA and 3.5 mm
The Marshall Stanmore 3 connects over Bluetooth 5.2 with a rated range of 10 metres, and Marshall describes it as ready for Bluetooth LE Audio. For wired sources it has an RCA input, useful for a turntable with a built-in phono preamp or for the analogue output of a TV, and a 3.5 mm input for a laptop, a music player or a mixer.
There is no Wi-Fi in the Stanmore III, so no AirPlay, Chromecast or multi-room streaming over your home network, and there is no HDMI or optical input. A source button on the top panel switches between Bluetooth, RCA and 3.5 mm.
Controls on the Top Panel and the Marshall App
Everything you need is on the top of the Marshall Stanmore 3: a power switch, a source button, a volume knob, separate bass and treble knobs, a play/pause button and a skip control. Turning the bass and treble knobs is the fastest way to adjust the sound to a room, without opening an app.
The Marshall Bluetooth app for iOS and Android adds equaliser settings and delivers over-the-air software updates. Marshall states a minimum of two years of software support.
Why the Black Stanmore III
Black is the finish most people picture when they think of a Marshall amplifier, and it blends into a dark TV cabinet or a shelf of vinyl without drawing attention until it plays. It also hides dust and fingerprints on the textured surface better than the Cream finish. The site also offers the Stanmore III in Cream and Brown if you prefer a lighter or warmer tone.
Whichever finish you choose, the Marshall Stanmore 3 needs mains power: it has no battery, so place it within reach of a wall socket.
Power, Delivery and Warranty
Marshall lists the input as 100 to 240 V at 50 to 60 Hz, so the Stanmore III runs on UAE mains voltage. The box contains the speaker, a mains lead and the user manual.
The Marshall Stanmore 3 is delivered across the UAE in up to 3 business days, free on orders from AED 300. It comes with a 1-year warranty from Totot, a 14-day return window for defective or non-matching items, and shipping damage should be reported within 48 hours.
Who This Is Not For
The Marshall Stanmore 3 is not portable: it has no battery, weighs 4.25 kg and Marshall lists no water resistance, so it stays indoors next to a socket. If you want to take music outside, a battery speaker is the better fit.
It is also not a network speaker. Without Wi-Fi it cannot join AirPlay or multi-room systems, and without HDMI or optical it is not a direct soundbar replacement for a TV that only has digital audio outputs.
