The Harman Kardon Citation Sub S is the compact wireless subwoofer of the Harman Kardon Citation range. It adds low bass to a Citation soundbar or Citation speakers without an audio cable: it needs only a power socket and links to the main speaker over WiSA in the 5 GHz band. Harman Kardon lists one 6.5-inch driver and 100W RMS in a cabinet of 248 x 386 x 248 mm, covered in a blended wool fabric made by Kvadrat. This is the Grey version. It is an add-on, so it only makes sense if you own, or plan to buy, a compatible Citation product.

6.5-inch driver and 100W RMS
Harman Kardon specifies a single 6.5-inch subwoofer driver and an output of 100W RMS, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB. It does not publish a frequency response figure for the Harman Kardon Citation Sub S, so there is no official number for how low it reaches. As a guide inside the same family, the larger Citation Sub has a bigger driver and more power; the Sub S trades some depth and output for a cabinet that fits beside a sofa or under a side table in an apartment living room or majlis.
Wireless WiSA link to Citation products
The subwoofer connects over WiSA, which Harman Kardon describes as super low latency and multi-channel; the support page states 96 kHz / 24-bit audio with an audio latency of 5 ms, which keeps bass in step with the picture. WiSA uses the 5 GHz band (5.15 to 5.35, 5.47 to 5.725 and 5.725 to 5.825 GHz). The only cable is the 1.8 m power cord, so the Harman Kardon Citation Sub S can sit anywhere in the room that has a socket. Harman Kardon also says software updates install automatically.
Which products it works with
Harman Kardon describes the Harman Kardon Citation Sub S as compatible with the Citation collection and names the Citation MultiBeam 700 soundbar, the Citation Bar and the Citation Tower speakers. Its support page adds that the subwoofer can join a pair of Citation Surround speakers with a Citation soundbar to build a 5.1 system, and recommends a Citation Bar as the main hub. It is not a standalone speaker: it has no Bluetooth input of its own and does not pair with soundbars from other brands or with non-Citation Harman Kardon speakers.
Grey Kvadrat fabric and cabinet
The cabinet is wrapped in a premium blended wool fabric from Kvadrat, which Harman Kardon says is dirt repellent and flame retardant. In grey, the Harman Kardon Citation Sub S reads as soft furniture rather than a black box, so it suits light sofas, beige rugs and pale walls; grey also hides household dust better than black. A soft brush or the upholstery tool of a vacuum keeps the fabric clean. The unit measures 248 x 386 x 248 mm (W x H x D) and weighs 5.2 kg.
Placement, power and the box
Bass spreads in all directions, so the subwoofer does not have to sit next to the TV; a spot beside the sofa or near a corner usually gives fuller bass, and moving it a little while listening helps find the best place. Power input is 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, which covers UAE sockets, and Harman Kardon lists sleep-mode consumption below 2.0 W. In the box: the Citation Sub S, a quick-start guide, a warranty sheet, a safety sheet and a 1.8 m power cable.
Who This Is Not For
The Harman Kardon Citation Sub S is not for anyone without a compatible Citation soundbar or Citation speakers; it pairs only with the Citation range and has no Bluetooth or wired input to use on its own. It does not work with other brands’ soundbars. Harman Kardon publishes no frequency response, and the 6.5-inch driver will not give the deepest bass in a large room, where the bigger Citation Sub suits better.
