Stem AI: Remove the Part You Want to Play
Stream a song over Bluetooth and Stem AI splits the vocals, drums and guitar in real time. Turn down the part you want to play yourself and carry on with the rest of the band — useful for learning a new song or practising vocals over the original track without the singer. JBL states that this feature is for non-commercial use only, so it is not meant for paid performances.
Battery, Power and Recording
A 68 Wh lithium-ion battery runs the JBL BandBox Trio for up to 10 hours depending on volume and content, and charges in 3 hours with the unit switched off. The battery is swappable, and a spare JBL Battery 400 is sold separately. It also runs on 100–240 V mains or USB PD 3.1 at 20 V / 3 A. The USB-C port works as a 24-bit / 48 kHz, two-channel audio interface for recording straight into a computer, and there are a headphone output and a stereo line output for a second speaker.
Who This Is Not For
The JBL BandBox Trio is not a light travel speaker: it weighs 6.65 kg, measures 344 × 265 × 228 mm, and JBL publishes no water or dust rating for it. Bands needing power for a large hall or more than four inputs should look higher up, and JBL does not mention phantom power for condenser microphones. The spare battery is not included, and Stem AI is for non-commercial use only.
