BloodRayne 2: ReVamped PS5 – Limited Run Games Physical Disc, Region-Free Action Classic

BloodRayne 2 ReVamped brings Rayne’s second outing to modern consoles, and this copy is the PlayStation 5 physical disc released through Limited Run Games, with Ziggurat on the cover as publisher. Limited Run describes it as a region-free disc with upgraded graphics and cinematics and improved lighting, shadows, textures and reflections. It is a single-player action game rated Mature, built around acrobatic blade and gun combat.

BloodRayne 2 ReVamped: Rayne Against Her Own Family

Rayne is a dhampir, born from the union of a vampire and a human. Limited Run’s description gives her vampiric powers together with a far better resistance to sunlight and water than a full vampire. In BloodRayne 2 ReVamped her target is personal: she has to hunt down her own siblings, who are pursuing vampire supremacy.

The story is pulp horror rather than prestige drama, and it never pretends otherwise. That is part of the appeal for fans who remember the original release and want it on a current console.

Acrobatic Blade and Gun Combat

Combat is the core of the game. Limited Run lists new acrobatic movements, rail sliding, fast-paced blade and gun combat and fatal finishing moves. Blades and guns are used together in the same fight rather than as separate play styles.

Time dilation lets you slow the action so you can line up attacks, and an extensive combo system rewards chaining moves together. BloodRayne 2 ReVamped is at its best when you keep moving and mix the two weapon types.

What the ReVamped Edition Changes

Limited Run describes the update as upgraded graphics and cinematics in high definition, with improved lighting, shadows, textures and reflections. Limited Run does not publish a target resolution or frame rate for the PS5 version, so we make no 4K or 60fps claim here.

The level design and combat follow the original game. If you are expecting a ground-up remake, BloodRayne 2 ReVamped is a visual refresh of an older action game, and it plays like one.

A Physical, Region-Free PS5 Disc

Limited Run Games produces physical editions in limited quantities, which is why collectors look for them. This is the PS5 Standard Edition, numbered Limited Run #16 for PlayStation 5 on Limited Run’s store, and it is region-free, so it plays on a PS5 bought anywhere.

Limited Run also released BloodRayne 2 ReVamped on a separate PS4 disc (Limited Run #433), which it says also works on PS5, and a Collector’s Edition. This listing is the PS5 disc shown in the photo, not the PS4 disc or the Collector’s Edition.

Languages and Age Rating

Limited Run lists English, French, Italian, German, Russian and Spanish. Arabic is not supported. The game is rated ESRB Mature for intense violence, blood and gore, partial nudity, strong language and drug references.

Who This Is Not For

It is not for children or teenagers, and not for anyone who needs Arabic text. There is no multiplayer.

Players used to modern action games may find the camera, level layouts and pacing dated, since the ReVamped edition improves visuals rather than redesigning the game. And it needs a PS5 with a disc drive; it will not work on a PS5 Digital Edition without an attached drive.
