The JBL Tune 720BT Blue is the most colourful way to get the Tune 720BT: the same light over-ear Bluetooth headphone as the black model, finished in a mid blue that looks smart with denim, navy and grey. JBL rates the battery at up to 76 hours, a five-minute speed charge adds about three hours, and Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint keeps it paired to a phone and a laptop at once. At 220 g and foldable, it is built for long days on the move rather than for a desk.

What the blue finish looks like
The JBL Tune 720BT Blue uses a calm, mid-tone blue across the headband and earcups rather than a loud electric shade, so it reads as a colour choice without shouting. It sits well with jeans, navy jackets, school uniforms and grey hoodies, and it is easy to spot when you are digging through a backpack or a shared family drawer. Blue also hides light scuffs and fingerprints better than white, which matters on headphones that live in a bag. If you want something that is not the default black but still looks grown-up on the metro or in a lecture hall, this is the shade to pick.
Who the JBL Tune 720BT Blue suits best
This colour makes the most sense for students and commuters who carry their headphones every day and want them to feel personal. It is also a good gift choice for teenagers, since blue is easy to like and does not show wear quickly. Because the battery lasts so long, the JBL Tune 720BT Blue suits people who forget to charge things: at two hours of listening a day, a full charge can last weeks. Families sharing one pair between siblings will also appreciate that it is easy to recognise among other black accessories.
Battery: up to 76 hours, with a 5-minute top-up
JBL quotes up to 76 hours of wireless playback for the Tune 720BT. JBL does not publish the volume or codec used for that figure, so heavy listening at high volume will finish sooner. A full charge takes about two hours over USB-C, and when the battery is empty, five minutes on the charger gives roughly three hours of playback, enough for a commute or a short flight. If the battery runs out completely, the detachable audio cable in the box lets you keep listening wired, for example on an in-flight entertainment socket with a suitable adapter.
JBL Pure Bass sound from 40 mm drivers
Each earcup holds a 40 mm dynamic driver with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, 32-ohm impedance and 101 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz/1 mW. The tuning follows JBL Pure Bass, the Tune range signature that gives kick drums and bass lines extra weight, which suits pop, hip-hop, Arabic music and electronic tracks. If you prefer a flatter or brighter sound, the free JBL Headphones app offers EQ presets and a custom EQ curve. There is no active noise cancelling on this model; the cushions give passive isolation only.
Calls, multipoint and everyday handling
Bluetooth 5.3 handles the connection, with HFP 1.7.2, A2DP 1.3.2 and AVRCP 1.6.2 profiles. Multipoint keeps two devices connected, so a video on a tablet can give way to a call on your phone without re-pairing. Calls use one built-in microphone, and Voice Aware lets you hear your own voice while you talk so you do not end up shouting. Buttons on the earcup cover volume, playback and calls. The frame folds for carrying, and at 220 g the JBL Tune 720BT Blue is light by over-ear standards, with a padded headband and soft cushions for longer sessions.
Who This Is Not For
The JBL Tune 720BT Blue is not for anyone who needs active noise cancelling: it has none, only passive isolation from the cushions. Calls use a single microphone, so busy streets or windy spots will reach the other person more than on headsets with multi-mic arrays. JBL does not list an IP water or dust rating, so it is not a gym or rain headphone. Bluetooth adds some delay, so competitive gamers are better served by a wired gaming headset, and the blue finish will not suit buyers who want headphones that disappear into a formal outfit.
