How the JBL Bar 800MK2 works
The main bar plays the front channels. The two surround speakers detach from the ends of the bar and run wirelessly on battery, rated by JBL at up to 10 hours depending on content and volume. Put them back on the bar to recharge. The subwoofer is wireless and needs only a power socket.

JBL lists 780W maximum output at 1% THD, or 390W RMS at 1% THD: 400W for the soundbar, 300W for the subwoofer and 40W for each surround speaker. The bar has six 44 × 80 mm racetrack drivers and two 25 mm tweeters; each surround speaker has two 44 × 90 mm racetrack drivers; the subwoofer uses a 10-inch (260 mm) driver. Frequency response is 35Hz to 20kHz at −6dB.
JBL does not list up-firing drivers for the Bar 800MK2, so Dolby Atmos height is virtual rather than bounced off the ceiling.
