Movement built from real NFL tracking data
The headline change in Madden NFL 21 PS5 is how players move. EA explains that animation selection is driven by Next Gen Stats, so the game picks motions based on how real players actually move rather than from a generic library. Elite route runners run the routes logged for them, with explosive first steps and sharp direction changes, and defenders react more realistically to the routes and runs in front of them. EA also gives each position its own body composition, so a lineman and a cornerback no longer look like the same model scaled up or down, and cloth simulation updates jersey wrinkles as players move.
DualSense, loading and audio on PS5
On PlayStation 5 the DualSense controller’s haptics let you feel the impact of passes, catches, tackles, hits and kicks, each with a different texture in your hands.
