The Beats Solo 4 Minecraft Special Edition is the standard Beats Solo 4 on-ear headphone in Beats’ Charged Black finish, released in July 2024 with a Creeper-inspired design to mark the 15th anniversary of Minecraft. Under the artwork it is the same headphone as every other Solo 4: custom 40 mm transducers, up to 50 hours of battery, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, lossless audio over a USB-C or 3.5 mm cable, and just 217 g on your head. One thing to know first: there is no active noise cancelling.

What makes the Minecraft edition different
Minecraft announced the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft Special Edition on 16 July 2024 and put it on sale two days later. Minecraft describes a Creeper-inspired design, and Beats lists the colour as Charged Black. According to Minecraft, each pair came with a code to redeem an exclusive in-game Character Creator item, so the headphones double as a small digital collectible.
Minecraft also called it a very limited run, sold only in the United States and the United Kingdom through apple.com, Target, EE and selected Apple Stores. There was no Middle East launch, which means every Beats Solo 4 Minecraft in the UAE is an import. That affects the warranty, which we cover ourselves; see the ordering section below.
The same Solo 4 hardware inside
The artwork on the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft changes nothing about the sound. It uses the same custom-built 40 mm transducers as every Solo 4, tuned by Beats to reduce distortion, latency and electronic artifacts. The result is the balanced, punchy Beats tuning rather than the heavy bass of older Solo models.
Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking uses built-in gyroscopes and accelerometers, so sound stays anchored in space as you turn your head. A built-in digital-to-analog converter lets the headphones play lossless audio over the included USB-C to USB-C cable, and the 3.5 mm analog cable in the box works too.
Battery: 50 hours, and what that figure means
Beats rates the Solo 4, and so the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft, at up to 50 hours of listening on a single charge. Because there is no noise cancelling to power, Beats publishes one figure rather than separate ANC-on and ANC-off numbers; like any rating, real runtime drops at high volume. Fast Fuel gives up to 5 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.
For someone gaming or watching videos for an hour or two each evening, the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft goes several weeks between charges. The USB-C cable in the box both charges the headphones and carries audio; the power adapter is sold separately.
Gaming, voice chat and pairing
On a phone or tablet, Bluetooth is the easy way to use the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft. Bluetooth always adds some delay, and Beats does not publish a latency figure, so for a console or PC where timing matters, plug in the 3.5 mm or USB-C cable instead.
Multiple digital beam-forming microphones with a voice-targeting algorithm handle calls and voice chat. Class 1 Bluetooth, listed as Bluetooth 5.3, gives extended range. One-touch pairing and automatic pre-pairing work on iOS and Android, along with Find My on Apple devices, Find My Device on Android, Audio Sharing and hands-free Siri.
Who the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft suits
It suits Minecraft players who want headphones that match the game, collectors of limited Beats editions, and parents looking for a gift that is still a proper pair of headphones rather than a toy. At 217 g the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft is light, the ear cups fold, and a carrying case is included for a school bag or backpack.
The Charged Black base hides scuffs and fingerprints far better than light colours. To keep the design looking new, store the headphones in their case and wipe the cushions with a dry cloth after long sessions.
Minecraft edition or the regular Solo 4?
If the design does not matter to you, the regular Beats Solo 4 in Matte Black gives identical sound, battery life and features. Choose the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft Special Edition when the Creeper look or the collectible side is the point. The regular model also comes in Slate Blue, Cloud Pink and Matte Gray.
Who This Is Not For
If you need active noise cancelling for flights or loud offices, the Beats Solo 4 Minecraft is the wrong pick; the Solo 4 relies on passive isolation from its cushions. Beats lists no water or sweat resistance, so they are not workout headphones. On-ear pressure can become tiring over many hours, especially for glasses wearers. There is no power adapter in the box. And because this was a limited US and UK release, no UAE agent covers it; the warranty is our own.
